Description
This ACEO is my part of the art trade with BeckyKidus ! A wolf was one of the possible subjects, which I wanted to combine with SeldomSeenSpeciesSunday (raising awareness for the lesser seen/known animals). So I thought the red wolf might have been a good choice.

This time I wanted to do a colourful smooth gradient background to bring full attention to the wolf portrait itself, which turned out to be a bit of a challenge because acrylics dry so fast. I noticed while looking for reference images that some gray wolf portraits can look a bit like reds and reverse, which was kind of interesting.
It's been fun to work on this, it's always nice to paint a wolf once in a while

I used a picture by B. Bartel / USFWS as reference for the red wolf.
