Day 19 of Yokai Month aka Yokaitober brings us the Hakutaku. Its name meaning "white marsh", and here are no relevant pop culture examples I can think of easily. Despite their menacing appearance, they're one of the few friendlier yokai in Japan, well if you respect them that is. They're said to bring good luck and can even understand human languages.
