Description Hello, everyone!
This is a prop design I made for a design challenge I'm currently working on. Specifically, this is Kardam's lightsaber, the crew Jedi.
I tried to achieve a look that was sturdy, unbreakable and functional that mirrored the personality of the owner. The goal was to be as original as possible while maintaining the iconic forms of the lightsaber as originally conceived in the original trilogy.

The goal of the whole project is to take a well established idea, write an original story and create a world (with characters, props and environments) that should be unique, believable and appropriate for both the original story and the franchise.
And since I'm a Star Wars geek, the choice was easy!

If you'd like to model this prop, please go ahead! I'd love to see your work!

This project has the only purpose of creating examples of visual development for feature film that is both unique and appropriate for a given preexisting idea.
The Star Wars franchise is a property of Disney and all rights belong to it's rightful owner/owner's.

This is awesome. It's incredible to see the transformation from the blueprint to this. I actually found your blueprint looking for lightsaber blueprints to practice modelling. I've been modelling over a year now, but unfortunately in the holidays I've slacked and I really want to practice and get good. I've done a little progress so far, but not done just yet. I hope it'll look even half as good as yours, but I know it's all about practice.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hello, hardcase1!

No I'm not currently working on a Star Wars animated movie. The goal of the whole project is to create examples of visual development for feature film that is both unique and appropriate for a given preexisting idea/franchise. I chose Star Wars because it's so well-known, everybody recognize a piece of concept art that belongs to the world of Star Wars and it could be difficult to stay original while preserving the design that made Star Wars so appealing; so I challenged myself this way to see if I could make original concepts while staying inside the Star Wars boundaries.

Thank you for asking!
