Description
I would have to learn about the latest Open Call from Wizards the day before thanksgiving, when I have little more than a month to make my submission.Oh well, I can easily whip out 30 pages of storyline (In this attempt, I'm making a story that's equal parts 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Discworld' and set it in Time Spiral block Dominaria. It seems that the rifts there are worse than Teferi thought) and modify a NaNoWriMo method and have a 50K words goal within Januray 31 (I want to work my way up to getting it done in a month.)
Oh, by the way, Jasmine COPped my Dimensional Hammer. Hence it impacted something above her head.

Umm usually they only have them do a book at a time unless you're hired for a whole block. Me? I'm going with whatever I can get.

Oh um here's whats going on by the way with the rifts and such.
1- The flood and ripping of the Kami invading the Human world was due to the Planeshift catastrophe during the Invasion.
2- Same thing with Ravnica, Mirrodin is actually the most Current story along with Time Spiral since it's after the Karona Catastrophe and such.

Thinking what you've said over, I'm curious. If this submission actually connects and I'm able to so a series of books (It'll probably be a Mirror Stone series set in Magic: The Gathering, something I personally think the Youth Reader assortment needs), what do you want to see in the series? It'll start in Dominaria and may eventually spill over to a fictional version of Earth if I can get away with it. Any suggestions on what you'd like to see happen? Anybody?

You're doing it again, David.
Stop fishing for ideas, it makes you appear like you have no ideas of your own.
People have pointed out here before that it's dangerous to solicit people for ideas and material - copyright issues come up later if money/royalties get involved.
Write. Your. OWN. Stories.

That's what I had in mind as I'm writing this story. I hope to play on the effects of the two catastrophes and show some of the aftereffects of these rips, as well as show them in a worsened state (Like in Kamigawa, how the events in Scourge--Karona--worsened what happened in Planeshift)

I've read a few 'free chapters' of some of the MtG books and they seem pretty good. They have a lot of interesting worlds and characters!
I wish you luck with that. ^.^

I know, I'm an avid reader of the series myself. And I'm interested enough in the game's world to write stories on it.

Considering Wizards of the Coast aquired TSR and the whole of Dungeons of Dragons, do you think any part of the Planescape setting has leaked into it?
It's really my favorite setting, of all the fictional settings I've read. Though the Dabus seem kinda tacked on. LOL

I don't know. There's a good chance that WotC wants to keep the Magic Multiverse from messing around with the D&D Multiverse. Could be because people threatened to burn the building down if they catch Dizzit and Serra getting it on.
However, in the Time Spiral cycle, reality has been pretty much, in Jamie's words, shredded after the Invasion and Onslaught blocks, and the entire plane is suffering from rifts in the fabric of time and space. These rifts could worsen to involve other planes than just Dominaria. I could see rifts occur that not go through time but to other planes like Mirrodin, Kamigawa, and Ravincia.
In the book I write, I have these rifts go to the extreme and end up in [a fictional version of] the Real World, where everything in the M:TG series is just a card game and a series of books. Jamie McIndy fell through one such rift and ended up in Dominaria (I know it's done before in a WotC property, but not in Magic: The Gathering, and don't give me that 'but the D&D cartoon was made while TSR had the rights,' bit. I won't hear of it.) where the Planeswalkers find out about this strange plane (Imaging the guts they'll bust when they hear what that plane's called) is all about, and that every bit of their world is a part of someone's game.
That's something I thought up after just thirty seconds, a shot of caffeine, and a desire to do a modified National Novel Writing Month method in writing the first book.
I'm rambling now. I should shut up.

Do you really think they'd be interested in publishing that sort of thing? It really seems like they'd rather keep fantasy fantasy and not bring Earth into the mix.
You might have more luck if you brought the characters into a non-earth Information Age world.
Maybe even twist around some of Earth's History and Culture, and change the names so that it all seems familiar but different.
Maybe instead of Rome forming an empire and being succeeded by the English, China formed an empire and was suceeded by the Japanese? A new world was discovered, a new continent, and its indigenous peoples were similarly subjugated and a great colonial empire was born, only to be broken apart by infighting and inssurection to create a sort of Japanese version of America, while the western powers remain isolated and full of mystery.
Consider how much history would change if you eliminated Christianity from the picture, or made it a second-class religion like Bhuddism is often considered in American culture today.
Bringing all of those major historical events to the present, you could make a facinating and wonderful information-age world that would immerse people in fantasy while also providing a sense of familiarity. Cars, Trains, Planes, PCs and the Internet. Wars fought over oil and religious supremacy.
Of course this is just brainstorming. Or maybe now _I'M_ the one rambling.

Those cases may be considered in a future story. I'd like to see a Information Age Dominaria, for example. I'll keep these in mind.

In any case you've gotta write your story your way. Good luck!

Yeah, like _she's_ going to let herself get clocked by an Anime Hammer.
(That, and if we ever met, she knows what she'll do to me.)
