Description I do hope my depiction of Pippkin's accent has improved.

That, and Pippkin's talk helped calm Melody's worries. She will be seeing her mama again soon.

I agree with the others.
Drop the accent altogether. You already have Scarlet talking with some strange facsimile of a southern accent - if those two started talking together, noone would understand a word they were saying.

You COULD try giving Pipkin a more gentlemanly accent, but then I fear your version of that would be Pipkin saying 'I say, old boy, tally ho, pip-pip' every second sentence, which is just as wrong.

Give him just a neutral accent. He can mention he's English sometime and that's all the reader need know.

Or just use British spellings of words, if you wanted to be clever about it.

It's improved, but i still don't think the Cockney accent is fitting. It's like he changed into Eric Idle.

I imagined him as having an upperclass Brit accent.

I agree. I see him as more refined, so I think he'd be more into speaking like an English gentleman. Cockney is for the rough trade type. (Yes, stereotypes all around, but whatever.)

An English gentleman, perhaps, with a French father.

An interesting mix, and a good explanation as to his French surname.

Really. (I'm stuck with it in the web comic, since it's part of the time line and changing it now would be somewhat dumb, but if I make a Scarlet PI comic, I'll be sure to make the change.)

You can always go back and fix things.

I've done that before. There's no shame in it.

True. I'll do it later.

Busy with the WotC submission.

I was thinking Pippkin had grown up poor, but learned to steal to fund the life of a British Gentleman he strives to elevate, but that's just me.
