Asimov and robots in general are amazing, and this surpasses most of the robot artwork I've seen on dA!

kkusterdias, thank you for the kind words. This piece was handpainted, it progressed from a pencil drawing, to colour sketches then the final painting. For more of an explanation on the process have a look at my blog [link]

I feel like we're catching him during a private moment; I wonder what he's reading so avidly...

If you look closely at the cover there are some little clues. Have a look at the short story if you get a chance Asimov paints a beautiful picture in words.

I like much
It is a peculiar interpretation the ambient may fit in a Verne revival , the future as seen in the victorian age
But will be still perfect for the Asimov book

Oh, very nice! Huge fan of "I, Robot" and I gotta say that you did an awesome job of capturing the feel of classic sci-fi with the retro design of the robot and the composition of the room. Fantastic work!

Hi Doc, thanks for stopping past and having a look at the piece! I'm a big fan of the book as well, the way Asimov approaches robots is so provocative and relevant in our time. It was a great pleasure to try and visualise a piece of his world.
All the best, David.
