So this happened. Originally it was made as a background poster for my comic, Comfortably Numb (www.jakelivescomic.com) but I decided to share it here in all it's ridiculousness. These posters use my characters in lieu of the real actors/characters. Think of it like the 'alter egos' at the end of every Daria episode. I love my TOG in World of Tanks and enjoy the tank fights of Girls und Panzer, so this is the result.

The backstory is that this is the St. Gloriana TOG II* super-heavy tank team, which like the tank they operate are a group of unwanted oddities and weirdos.

Masala Chai, the commander, used to run a Matilda, but... had issues. She's like a moron-whisperer as she's good at working with special cases and people who don't get along. (standing meganekko auburnette)

Singlo, the radio operator, too fussy and by the rules even for a proper British establishment. Was banished to the TOG despite her skills. (redhead)

Constant Comment, the gunner, is just a weirdo and kind of annoying if you're not also a weirdo. (Filipina)

Camomile, the loader, is the reason her last crew installed a Jesus Jar in their Cromwell. Every time she invoked Jesus she had to drop a pound in it. Bought drinks for everyone come Friday, but they got tired of her right fast and into the TOG she went. (blonde)

Gyokuro, the driver, is here due to a clerical error. Those are the breaks sometimes. (Figure it out)

The crew is short a loader and is always willing to take an applicant. (Historically and is it is in game, the TOG II* was supposed to have two loaders; physically we have no idea where the second one was supposed to be.)

If they had a fight song it would definitely be "Under the White Ensign." (The White Ensign is the flag or ensign of the Royal Navy)

(Note: The whole story came about because I have a lot of time to think whilst inking and coloring)

The background cap badge is my parody design, based on the real world British tanker cap badge but with a TOG and tea pot in lieu of a Mk. IV and a crown. That was fun to make and now I want one.

The only bit I'm dissatisfied with is that the TOG is slightly too wide. And now that I think about it, I wish I'd put a big White Ensign flying from the bridge... I mean turret.
