Those striations of light, laid out over a vital and beautifully integrated style, deep in the heart of Disney's America-- good lord, this is beautiful work!

Thanks so much man~ Im glad that you see the notion of Disney/Society supposedly as "The Happiest Place On Earth"-Yet ironicly, everyone looks so damn discontented and frustrated-Haaa!

One of my favorite songs in Graham Parker's recent catalogue is Disney's America-- perfect soundtrack for looking at this piece!

i like the character of the lady and the mice
your use of chiaroscuro is nice too
however, it might have been a tad more amazing had you made the bubbles transparent
rather than solid blue

Nice underwater piece. I could learn a thing or two from that. I used to think of you as a caricature artist. those days are over. You are headed down a surreal road.

Hey thats an awesome thing to say Paul-Thanks man-{At least bing a "surreal guy" I dont have to explain to anyone why the bubbles arent translucent-Haaaa!}

zergspice In reply to davidmacdowell [2007-10-29 06:04:57 +0000 UTC]
of course, that is the way it should be. Plus I get that they are bubbles, translucency is just extra work.

I wish I could say something profound about this piece, but the work says so much for itself. I just keep staring at it. 24"x36" is a hefty size, too. I'm in the finishing stages of one that size myself.
I hope you have enjoyed the time you spent with this one, because you won't have it for very long.

2 DAYS!!!!???? You make me ill. I need to figure out how to speed up, because I have almost 100 hours into the 24"x36" I'm working on. Did you get any sleep in those two days?

No probs! I love them! And I get the theme! They're wonderful!
And the other thing I love about your work, is that you make a series, and then another, which is totally different from the first. But each series is beautifully congruent. I'm taking another look at your body of work at the moment!
I bought the canvas for my water dude 30"x30". I've been cleaning up some other stuff lately, and I'm taking my time. I have a piece finished (waiting for a nice day on the weekend to take photos) and another piece that should be finished soon.
Hope you're doing well!
