Description
Probably the closest I will ever come to creating a self-portrait. This is the third piece in the series "Life in Pieces" and I swear, I never thought it would be finished. I considered making this the last one, of the puzzle people series, but the more I think about it the more stories I remember that would be great additions to the concept. My art and my heart feed each other. It's intimate... and makes for a fairly good meal.
acrylic on canvas.
the original, along with its two mates, have been sold.

Pretty shitty way to approach the situation with someone who's art you used, you condescending parasite. There is very little of my work that is creative commons and this definitely isn't one. Go learn how to create instead of making excuses.

um, I don't understand your hostility here?
This art somehow got accidentally added to the group creative-commons-art:
www.deviantart.com/creative-coβ¦
I appreciate your art's existence, but don't really have any interest in printing the art, featuring the art in a hobby video game, modifying the art for my own creative expression, or any other activity people enjoy the freedom of creative commons art for. Nor have I already incorporated this art in any of my endeavors. I don't know where you extracted "you used" from.
I hope you don't need to struggle to make the art you create possible.
Free, or non-free, the world faces a crisis of culture because the lives of those who create culture don't receive enough respect or support.
Anyone recognized as sincerely ambitionate to create art or develop the ability to create art with the intention to create, should receive economic support simply for that ambition not based on some shortsighted interpretation of arbitrary merit. Only one merit exists in art: the difficulty--apart from surviving--someone endured to create.
For the record, purely because vitriolic statements can affect more than just the person you intend them for:
Many reasons exist for why someone might not follow a passion for art in the form of creating.
First of all, the world can't Only have artists, as someone must grow the food on the farm.
Second of all, art will never get appreciated if no one ever studies art and one can't study art which spreads not.Β
Third of all, a person can only have room in their mind for so many artistic talents.
Some people achieve the master-of-trades honor, yet even they tend to need to cut corners or lose efficiency,
to stay talented at so much without forgetting how to do any one trade masterfully.
Generally speaking, multimedia requires multiple people with different talents cooperating.
Creative commons makes multimedia like Pepper & Carrot possible without cooperation.
archive.org/details/peppercarrβ¦
No one should feel like a parasite for wanting build atop of someone else's labor.
Labor + Labor = Greater achievements, than one's labor alone.
Assuming everyone should somehow simply learn every talent in the world,
makes for a very narrow-minded gesture.

Yeah. Sorry for the confusion. I removed it. Excuse me while I go put some ice on my face. This was an impressive faceplant on my part. So sorry.

To be honest, I only skimmed your comment at first. Then, I tried to read it again and got bored. It was predictable and I have heard it before: people who don't know how things work talking like they do. You seem like you have trouble recognizing when you're wrong and clearly you like to talk. I also make mistakes, though, so I can sympathize for you.Β
This painting is not licensed in Creative Commons. It is not fair use, and it's not the work of some long-dead artist that's not around anymore to speak for himself. If it were, it would say so right here on this page where it was first published. Being in a DeviantArt group doesn't change that, nor is it my responsibility to accommodate your laziness. (I just figured out what you were talking about with your first comment regarding creative commons group.) I have no license agreement with any random groups on DeviantArt.Β Here's a tip: Get your content from a legitimate CC provider. There's less confusion. Also, do the research: it's a big part of the job if you are going to create professionally, especially if you are dependent on other creators.Β
I do NOT approve of you using my work. Any of it.
My work is protected by law.
I do admire your pompous and almost noble view of not paying for content. I'd prefer you remove my work from your video,Β but who cares. I'm glad it could make whatever it is that you do easier. I'm sure you'll go far in this world with your laziness, arrogance, and inability to show respect to others. It seems to be working well for so many people these days.
"Narrow-minded" Lol
It's always the dumb ones.Β

Apology in advance or in the moment for this comment's thread necromancy.
I had no such mischievous intentions : ) I simply care about free culture, even while just curating my favorites.Β
Hopefully you achieve(d) what control I'm sure you deserve with that video situation:
I am a big supporter for exerting artistic control through argumentation and tame social pressure.Β
Thank you, though! ... If not for this confusion, I possibly wouldn't have ever articulated my view so well.Β
This occurred at an optimal moment with all my thoughts as close to perfectly organized as possible.
Obviously, I accept your apology : )

I felt so stupid when I realized my mistake. I had just contacted the video's maker on another platform with (I thought) a link back here. It was one of those moments, like in a movie, when a character is swinging at a horde of antagonists and a friend suddenly taps them on the shoulder and the character whips around and hits them. Thanks for understanding.

It's a really beautiful and deep artwork! I love its rich meaning, it shows that we can create and change what we are, and that many at a first glance unimportant moments make our whole portrait.
I've missed your puzzle-men They are incredible.
