Description Watercolour. 70cm x 50cm.

This is a building I see every day in Edinburgh city centre. I kept imagining what the scene would look like if civilisation fell and nature started to re-claim the land; illustrating how little human enterprise matters in the grand scheme of things.

Amazing!

It reminds me of one of the landscapes from "Last of Us" game, so beautiful!

A zombie game in Edinburgh would be WICKED.

I just finished playing Last of Us as well and this game left onerous impact on me. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it, it's just that the game provoked thought process after the ending and I'm still thinking of it. The green post apocalyptic environment and omnipresent feeling of forlorness were something I think I appreciated the most along with the main character (Joel) development. You managed to convey the former 100% for me, only it's peaceful in your painting, with no sign of possible menace - just the beauty and sadness of the broken civilization.
On a side note, qiality video game fanart/inspired works made in traditional media are a rare sight as it's mostly digital art domain, which in my eyes makes your work all the more special. You did great job, thank you very much for laboring so hard on this piece.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Yeah, Last of Us was such an impactful story, it transcended the normal bounds of games into a much more mature entertainment artifact; very much ahead of its time.

Thanks, I think it's good to see how a painting develops from first concept.

Apocalyptic and no people - hmmm. Not a post-independence image is it?

Maybe if you look very closely there are some 'remnants' of people...

Need to upload a larger image then more of the detail will be visible.

LOL, actually it's a feral fox!

No need to feel sorry for him, he's probably just been knawing on some tasty human bones
