Watercolour. 70cm x 50cm.This is a building I see every day in Edinburgh city centre. I kept imagining what the scene would look like if civilisation fell and nature started to re-claim the land; illustrating how little human enterprise matters in the grand scheme of things.

I did look at some Chernobyl reference actually, but I kept running into the same generic imagery, so I didn't really use it.

I had similar thoughts a while ago-- when a species dies out, usually the ecosystem surrounding them will suffer greatly. If humans died out, our ecosystem would flourish.Β

Haha, thanks, yes it is, hanging from a rope. Whoever it was couldn't cope with whatever calamity occured and just gave up...glad someone spotted it

This is an awesome original watercolor - so refreshing to see a non-generic landscape watercolor painting. I also liked that you "showed your work" - there's a lot more to the art process than just-BOOM!-instant masterpiece, and this shows just how much work and fore-thought you put into the piece.
