i teach an animal character design class @ a local school in LA andhave taught @ several studios in addition to my prod jobs @Fox, Disney, Cartoon Network, sony and several others..

OMGOSH! Is there anyway that you could...ya know....send me some stuff of yours? I am a college student at Indiana Wesleyan University and I am majoring in Illustration. I am mainly an animal designer, but I haven't really explored my area too much but I would LOVE your input. I would be proud to hear, learn, or take any advice you have to offer. My professor and adviser is Ron Mazellan and he's illustrated several children's book and had an opportunity to make a poster for Am American Tale, but he gave us his testimony on how he was nervous of the famous illustrator...I forgot his name though....

ya never know but know what you want to do.....
animator,vis dev, prod layout artist......
experience is key unless you get in on talent apprentice level....I worked @Disney feature as story vis dev guy and in long run was low man on totem pole so when prod shut down that I was on I was first to go...
its tough b/c everyone wants that job

I thought about story boarding to character development....Sounds like a hard road to go down if you want to work for a big company like Dreamworks or Disney...

just dont expect to walk in and get hired is all....build up a resume and prod experience....keep growing those skills beyond what youre doing @ a job or in school.

i had a hell of a time with those things, i was trying to figure out how to draw them for the tattoo on my ankle. i just decided to go with an indian stylized sorta theme...

I love the movement of the images. Even though they're only sketches, there's real existence there. Very nice job!

You REALLY capture the weight of the movement perfectly. I look back at my elephant sketches and I'm aware I have a lot more work to do. Thanks for the inspiration
