Description
Character design is not just about finding the right shape..its also about finding the character.... for this reason when I have the time I like to do several pose and attitude sketches, usually relatively small allowing me to explore the shapes of the character and see if it will work for production(these sketches are no bigger then about 3 inches...) ALthough they are personal sketches I still think about the potential of the design in production(Actually did these while killing time @ my booth @San Diego Comic Con 2006....) and yes...these are in my new book....Related content

oh, wow. For little sketches they're pretty good. Totally agree with you about character design. I've actually been trying to do that my self, but it's so hard..!

No, not yet. I just lost my job and he's working like a dog to make up for it.. and we're moving into a new place. I just got accepted to Calarts.. so maybe in a few months when my college fund kicks in I can purchase your book for 'school related study material' lol. Oh, we're having the last sketchbook session, Shane should be posting a journal about it soon.. I dunno when it'll be, but you're definately invited :>

Saturday June 16th... Last session cause Kristen and I are moving into an apartment and it wont accomodate the 25+ people that usually attend.. ( last summer we maxed out at 65 people ... it was nuts! ) anyhow.. I've been hosting for 5 1/2 years and It's just time to let someone else take over and I have to get serious about getting back into the industry.. I miss the work and the liveliness of being on a show.. and the education!! so.. I think it'd be great if you could make it and I know we (Kristen and I ) are both looking forward to meeting you and just cuttin it up ya know! anyhow.. if you wan tmore info and can make it just holler! .. hope all is well man ..
