Description
These are some old District X pages I had online for inkers to try out. PJ asked me if he could put them on his inkers forum, but I figure why not give everyone here a go too. These images are all copyright Marvel. These are for any inkers to use as portfolio samples ONLY. These are not to be reproduced or used for any other purpose, nor offered for sale. Please don't remove watermarks either, or host my pencils on your site; post a link to here if you want to mention it elsewhere.
If you want to buy the original inks that saw print, you'd have to ask my DX inker Alejandro Sicat if they are available.
I am not looking for an inker at the moment, so don't expect anything like that, but I'm happy to offer critiques if I have time. Feel free to post a link to your inked deviation in the comments below.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to get a page ready?

The sheer number of characters I had to design on those first couple of issues took longer than I anticipated, so I was already a bit behind when I had to get my four wisdom teeth pulled. I was trying to put that operation off until after the first arc at least, but one of them was so badly infected (they hadn't come out fully), it was deteriorating my jawbone, and the pain was unbearable. So Lan stepped in to help me out a bit, but after I returned for issue 5, my second child was born, and it looked like I wouldn't make the 6th issue in time, so I reluctantly stepped down.
I was hoping to get back to DX, but I didn't want to kick Lan off to get back on the book. Plus sales weren't great enough to sustain the book, even after it morphed into Mutopia X for a while, so another opportunity didn't present itself anyway. Also Brian Haberlin and Stan Winston wanted me to finish off Realm of the Claw (which they had put on hold just before I got the DX gig), which I did, since the schedule suited me better at that time.

I chose not to go exclusive with Marvel... though judging from my workload I've pretty much been working exclusively with them anyway.

I'm not really interested in drawing someone else's creator owned work, if that's what you mean. I'll do something creator owned when I have something to say. Whether or not I go through Image I'll see when I'm ready. Also with creator owned stuff you have to do the work upfront, and rely on the backend for payment... which is not something I really want to do right now.

understandable...that is a money drop off..just thought it might get tiring drawing characters you cant really improve upon or take in your own direction.

Well I've created a bunch of characters for Marvel, and we've been given fair leeway with existing characters, so it's not as restrictive as a lot of people tend to think (whether we've made improvements is subjective).
The only time it is boring for me is if there is absolutely no action in the story. I mean if it's going to be superheroes, have them blowing up sh!t, not standing around talking.
