Yes. His hair is brown. Still, this picture is an attempted to play with colour and to simulate the mood of one's hair being burnt brightly in the sun, and plain brown doesn't do well with that concept, so this ended up more on the orange spectrum to brown. I think, it is of a lighter shade when is compared to Perrin's though, but again, that might just be only me. :/

I have always thought of Rand as dark red. x3 Maybe I should draw them three together for distinction with regards to their colour, hm?

He is but you see, this picture is about the play of colour to the background. I once saw someone who drew a picture of girl who has hair that seemed to burn into the background so I play it here. The base for Mat's hair has always been brown, orange and yellow for me, so in this case, it is the orange that is more heavily implied to others.

I know Rand's is red. But the thing is, this picture was drawn with an intention to play with the concept, hair that seemed to burn and blended into the background. Mat's is brown, and admittedly for me, the basic colour to his hair for me has always been light brown, orange and yellow. I think it is because how I have always associated him with a fox as well that the brown comes to be very light with just the tinge of orange. However, staying true to the concept, it became the reason I choose the mid-tone which is orange in this case to make it appeared to 'burn' which just a hint of brown and yellow to emphasis instead of brand it all over with 'brown'. I hope that explain? The lacking in this picture that I saw after I post is more the missing scar on his neck. :/

Haha, I started out hating Mat, too, in the first book. He always seemed to cause a lot of trouble and was just generally an idiot. But now I like him (I'm on book 9 right now). c:

Omg. He was such a trouble maker! But the more I read, the more I came to like him. His encounter with Tylin is gold. I think I enjoy his pov in Ebou Dar best, and when he met Tuon, of course.

Honestly the Tylin part bothered me a lot, probably cause I feel like she pretty much sexually harassed / raped him. ;c I mean, he flat-out refused her advances numerous times, but she continued harassing him then ended up tying him up and sleeping with him. That is so mad sketchy to me, lol. If it had been the other way around (Mat doing that to her), I feel like it would have been considered a very dark/weird part of the book.
Anyway!! Just now, I'm at the part where he first realises who Tuon is, so we'll see how that plays out. c:

But again, I think Mat just love complaining. xD I think reverse rape should prove a serious topic, but I can't seem to put my mind to that when it comes to Mat and Tylin.
