He was a close friend to the family, the older brother when Vincent was young and a closely second of a father figure during the boy’s youth. When Vincent’s mother had fallen ill, it was Gast who was there for them while Grimoire, on the contrary, often found himself drawn away by work. When Vincent’s mother died, it was also Gast who had helped him seeing to all her funeral preparations."
