Is it bad that I see this and think Emile in Mass Effect? It's that damn skull I swear, sure other characters have worn skulls on their faces before Halo Reach had Emile, but he's the one that I actually remember the most. the Mass Effect part of it comes from the way the armor is put together and the ...well the shininess of everything.

No that's not bad..I don't believe that there is anything truly new. Everything is just an alteration or improvement of designs that have been there before. You have to know that Mass effect draws a lot of inspiration from other older sources too (syd mead designs,...). Games inspire me and Mass Effect was definitely one of them! However, I didn't even know of Emile when I did this concept. There's a lot of designs with skulls on helmets recently (cod, army of two), seems like everyone discovered the same idea around the same time

I get what you mean about things always just being alterations, improvements, or combinations of things that have came before. Of course that doesn't mean I've got to like that sobering truth.
Exoddyse? I actually had to look that up, never heard of it before today. That's really not all that surprising to me; I need to get "out" more.

Well some energetic barrier shield thingies pop out of the arms. And they look like wings! I'll do another illustration to show this in detail
