I got a bunch of my old Sonic comics out when I was at my parents' house over Christmas... Got me on a classic Sonic comic kick. I guess that's where this came from.For those of you who live under a rock, Ruby is my best-known Sonic fan character. I know, I know, as a once and former Sonic "pro" my having a fan character is quite ridiculous. But I love her ever so much, so you can shove it.
On the far left, we have vanilla Rubes - all-out superbitch and pain in Knuckles' side. After that is Hyper Ruby - this is her "true" super form. Then Mecha Ruby - when she has a run-in with a roboticizer, this is what you get. Finally, Chaos Ruby, who would have made an appearance in my New Mettle comic if I'd ever finished it. The idea was to have Ruby use Chaos Emeralds from the "normal" Mobius, which would screw up her transformation, not being from "normal" Mobius and all. Since, in that canon, she can't get back to her dimension, this would probably be her standard super form.

Oh my gawd, blast from the past. I love it. *_* LOL, shoot... I still remember stumbling onto your site on um... I think it was Tripod?... in 1997 and going OH HEY ART ON THE INTERNET IS COOL IMA DO THAT. She wore a blue jacket back then and you used gradients. Hee.

I think I remember coming across those old fan comics of yours... wasn't really sure if that was a commission for someone else or if it was entirely your own creation. Either way, it's always nostalgic seeing echidnas drawn in your style :3 very adorable work

I remember Ruby! She came from an alternate Mobius and now guards Knuckles Sky Sanctuary Zone.

Perhaps her sega-story could be she is one of the few remaining guardians of Angel Island, but somehow got propelled through time eithe rby Chaos Control or with the chrono-counterpart emeralds, the Time Stones?

She could come from a time many years after the Rise of Angel Island, but many years before modern times when only one guardian remained. Despite being around a century younger than Knuckles, she wouldn't have culture shock to worry about because like Knuckles, she would of spent most of her life in seclusion of Angel Island just like Knuckles.

If you search my gallery for "ruby comic" you'll come up with her intro story. I also started one called "new mettle" and if you search my gallery for that, you can find what I've done of it, as well. Since my style is a little different I have been considering re-doing and finishing it.

Well, something like this, due to the complexity of the mecha form and the fact that it's essentially 4 characters, with coloring job would run around $200. I'm flexible if you wanna negotiate or have fewer characters, etc.
