It's pretty scary when you can claim ownership to a fan character for a decade -- and that's just on the internet! To one of the oldest, most recognizable, stolen, rehashed, loved, hated, immitated but never duplicated Sonic fancharacters; My favorite alter-ego. Happy 10 years, Rubes.

I remember the very first time I went on the Internet and stumbled across your YERF (Back then S.C.F.A) archive. The way you drew Ruby inspired me into wanting to give making my own characters a shot, or at least learn how to draw Sonic fanart properly. It started with crudely scribbled pen sketches on the back of my school books, but the whole time I just kept thinking back to your art and wanting to be just as good someday. :3 I still enjoy your art now, and always watched you and be amazed at how dramatically your art would change each time you uploaded something.
It is amazing how ten years can go by so fast, though. D: Congrats on your character's anniversary, and here's to perhaps ten years more. ^^

How do people know the exact anniversaries of their characters? I don't bother to mark the day that I ceate a character in any way, and I don't remember stuff that I don't write down.
My oldest surviving character, Cherry, was created more than 10 years ago. Probably the same year S&K came out. But that was before the internet, or at least before everyone had it. Ruby kinda reminds me of her in a way, in a design sense...that and the fact they both have red names...in fact Ruby's oldest design there reminds me of Cherry's second design quite a bit (she started out looking like Knuckles with a hair bow). I think I actually remember that drawing from back when I first discovered Team Artail...probably before I actually joined, though.

Wow I remember seeing her in 1996, then I didn't see her again till she was in her 2006 design. I wouldn't have had any Idea that they were the same charecter.
