EDIT: Ok so I've been getting a lot of comments about how the emotions are sort of weird and don't go together, and I'm thinking its b/c those people aren't seeing the true emotion/story behind it so... I'm going to add it.
This is a scene where Nightstalker fights some one he doesn't want to and wins, then looks up at his father who forced him to fight and snarls at him.
So the emotions go from
Shocked (that he won)/Tired/sad
to just sad and depressed
then to anger at his father
Hope that helps explain it a bit more.

i didnt know about the actual story...but i got the basic concept/idea that you were trying to convey...
at first i thought he had been running from someone....and then realized realized he had been betrayed....and then like, swpre to himself to get revenge....or aomething....

I just put it under the animation section you know where you'd say illustration-digital-animals or what ever there's a section for animation. Other than that I'm not sure, if you can't upload it here you might wanna try putting it up on youtube.

it's got a lot of promise, and you are definitely a talented artist so i think you have a long way to go with animation. the facial expressions are fantastic. but i would recommend you buying 'the animators survival guide' by richard williams if you want to persue animation further...all the problems you are running into with this animation can be answered after a read through of this book.

I would say that one of the most helpful hints would be to dupicate the previous frame and manipulate to the next frame instead of trying to redraw it from scratch. Not only does it save time, but it helps cut back on the jumping of lines.

Would I then load all the images to a movie player program and adjust the speed?

in my version you can adjust the speed of the frames down in the right lower cornner of a window that pops up when you go to file save for web then check the animation box to the right. But it's only for all the frames as a whole not the individual frames. So if you have a program like that -such as gimp(though gimp has extreamly low quality for animations in my opinon) then I would definatly say load the images into a movie player program. -I've never tried movie maker for adjusting frame speed and i would assume its very difficuly and time consuming if even possable so i wouldn't do it in that program unless your really willing to spend some time experimenting with it. like i said i've never done it so it may actully turn out to be extreamly easy and quick. But thats my personal opinon

Coloration and frame accuracy blew my mind. The mist effect was neat too, and the facial expression were great. However, although you worked very hard on this, I would suggest adding a few 'in-between' frames to smooth the animation out. Or, speed the animation up. The faster the animation, the less frames. Since this one is rather slow, it would need more frames.

yeah now that I've really looked at its not very smooth at all -as someone described its more like an animated storyboard instead of an animation- so I'm nut sure if I'll go back, but I will definately keep in mind that I'll need a lot of layers to keep the animation smooth. thank you so much for the comment =]

what i would do is add a few more frames to the end to extend the anger, and make him look up and to the left (his right)

The overall quality is good, like having the dust blowing as it does have a effect.
But the overall animation on Nightstalker (sp?) is rather choppy and sort of looks more like a storyboard rather than a smooth animation. But then again, I don't know what animating on anything other that flash is like, perhaps you could change the speed or convert the frames on another program mainly made for the sole purpose of animating. Like someone said, the emotion change is awkward, unless Nightstalker is a schizo or bipolar I don't know how his emotions can just switch that fast. You could have had him panting, then sighing with a pause before he growls, without the pause it just looks like he can't make up his mind about what emotion he wants to do.

Amazing! I knew we'd be seeing an animation from you sooner or later! Maybe adding a few more frames to make the flow smoother may be the only improvement needed, but this is just beautifully done! Should we expect a longer animation down the road? lol!
