Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy
Harry froze under his Invisibility Cloak, and it was not only due to Petrificus Totalus; he was chilled to the bone at the sight before him. The man standing before him looked nothing like the stern professor whom he had grown to respect. The professor had been replaced by a grim faced wizard with tendrils of the aftermath swirling beneath his feet like snakes.

At the moment, Harry found the 'reformed' Death Eater and Hogwarts' Potions Master Severus Snape more terrifying than Lord Voldemort. Harry had not caught the hushed whisper, too caught up in his shock, guilt and anger himself.

"Forgive me, Albus."

I love the imagery. I have to admit, your comment was so well written I thought it must hve been a qoute that I missed when reading the HBP. So I litereally ran to my book shelf to check and see if I missed such an important detail. So bravo!! I liked it!!!!

Theres a lot of emotion in the colors you used. I'm not sure it represents the scene you picked though. I get the expedience and urgency of the situation,but not the grave death eater-ness. But I definitly love it all the same

I did pick the scene from the book, but of course I took liberties with it, such as putting my own opinion inside, as written in the artist descrip.

So it's not exactly a scene representation, just a fan's perspective of what she imagined happened. Not sure if it got through though, was trying to convey the sadness and remorse of the professor.

Impressive work! The atmosphere is perfect and the lining is amazing (it looks as though you did it in actual ink on paper rather than on the computer). The only minor quibble I have is that I picture Snape's face differently than you do -- but that's the point of having it in books, no? We all get to interpret their looks and mannerisms, even though they may be described thoroughly in the text. ^u^

Actually this piece was drawn and inked manually, then coloured digitally. I prefer drawing on paper, it's more fun for me. Yeah, I don't really like goatee's, as the book suggested. I suppose every artist has his/her own version of the favorite snarky professor, but one thing's for sure: black is never out of season.
