Wow.
Synopsis: I can't really say breathtaking, but I can say very well done.
This is very origianl. Nice to look at, nice to think about, though it only delivers a single thought or idea, to my mind, anyways.
Well, I have to admit that it takes a lot of effort, pain, and poison sweat to make something as nice as this. Not really very simple to make, especially the colours, but somehow, it's missing the "BOOM" factor in it. Apparently, I think I can put my finger on it, as well.
I mean, I don't really see anything wrong, just something missing in making the picture better. Nothing too big, nothing too long, nothing off course, and nothing cliche either. It's just that, maybe it's not something to look at for long. Basically, I guess, to me, it lacks details. It would be wonderful to look at something that has so many meanings, a piece that will keep the viewer entertained for a good, whole minute. Something that will make hundreds of thoughts pop up from one's mind.
Don't get me wrong, it's got a decent amount of deco, but I suppose more lively, or warm, or maybe just plain more hues and shades could make it have better impact. Some things don't really need so many details, but maybe if the artist places them with care, they'll have a great effect.
Please don't get offended. People have different brains, after all. Maybe mine is too immature to think straight as a ruler-drawn line.
Overall, your artwork is very organized and well-composed, but maybe a little more pizzazz. Have a nice day! <3

This work is pretty sweet. It made me immediately want to click on it the moment I set my eyes on the thumbnail!
First of all, the details are great from the dancing foamy water to the intricate scales on their tails. The colours are well-chosen and vibrant to capture the intense moment. Very cool, to contrast with the warm sky above. Space-wise, I believe you filled out the work pretty well: details where they need to be and focus on the couple holding each other in an intimate half-second.
It is hard to find something to dislike about this work, but I can say that I hope to see much more from you.

This piece has a great flow between the two characters with the tails and the splashes moving the composition in circles. This is original in that it isn't just the ariel-esque mermaid but instead two original and different mermaids. The way you designed the two tails also works very well.
The anatomy in this, although stylized, is accurate as far as I can see and their beauty is accentuated by the stylization. The females tail seems a little bit unnaturally light in the dark of the ocean though, but it can still work.
The impact of this piece is very strong because it is simple, just has the details that makes it pop. The flow of the piece brings it to live and draws the viewers attention to the two merpeople.
One thing that distracts me from the couple is the sky. It's difference in texture and style, along with its color combination of blue and orange makes it contrasting to the rest of the piece. I would recommend adding a little more of the the sky's style to the piece or changing the style of the sky to blend in a bit. But that is the one thing I can seem to pick at with this piece.

Your take on the fin of this male mermaid (merman) looks great. It feels very masculine.

I love Mermaids an this picture is a great work.
They look like they were dancing and the pose is beautiful!
The only thing I would change is the water. I think its ab bit to heavy and to cold for this scene. I wish it would be a bit warmer and smooth.

I hate to argue semantics, but only the woman would technically be a mermaid, while the man would be considered a merman.

Mmmm ah yes I see one major problem with this image...you need to make more of them more mermaid images...for me yes lots more hundreds and thousands of millions and never stop. I love this image you need to make more mermaid images, more merman images and a combo of the two. He he he, YEAH! There is nothing wrong with the image just that it is only one...can't be more clear than that.

you know, this was the first mermaid image i have ever done and probably would never have thought to do it if not for the commission, but I have written a story about mermaids so will have more in the future
