She's not from Portal at all, actually. It's Drossel von Flugel, from Disney's "Fireball" series that was only shown in Japan.

I sent Jason a repackaged version of Drossel with all of your recent updates and my updated MATs for her, if you wanna get it from him.
Or... basically all you gotta do is just select each major white part, click "add reflection" in the Material Room, and change the reflection amount to 0.35 instead of the default 1.0..
Cheap fixes, ahoy!

I am now trying to learn how to use materials in 3DSMAX, but each renderer uses their own, and are completely different from each other.

I tried my hand at Studio Max back in college... circa 2001. Max and I have a mutual hatred to each other.

add an ambient map for the eyes, she'll look badass

Daymond42 In reply to DarksealStudios [2012-02-12 15:54:43 +0000 UTC]
I was trying to get some ambience by just linking the eye texture to the ambient node and bringing the ambient value to something that isn't -too- blown out (I think I set it for 0.45).
Maybe some more research is needed.

i don't think there is a need to link the texture, I didn't see anything except color.... make the ambient channel blue and set it for something like half. render. increase/decrease. etc...

Daymond42 In reply to DarksealStudios [2012-02-13 04:17:58 +0000 UTC]
Oh I only linked the texture because I was too lazy to color match it.. :> Achieved about the same effect as your above steps.
Next up, though... Gotta see if I can get it working with IDL. I want that sucker to cast light.

Step 1: Place portals on portal-compatible horizontal surfaces above and below hostile android.
Step 2 (Optional): Wait until hostile android has achieved terminal velocity and then place exit portal on vertical portal-compatible surface parallel and close to second vertical surface.
Step 3: Evacuate area immediately.
