Hiccup

No! Get away from him! Go on, get out of here! Get away!

.
.
.

Toothless....hey. It's me bud, i'm right here, come back to me!

It wasn't your fault bud, they made you do it. You'd never hurt him, and you would never hurt me. Please, you are my best friend bud...my best friend.

Lilo

I know what's wrong with you. You're bad, and you'll always  be bad!

.
.
.

Stitch, can you hear me? I need you, please come back!

Stitch, I'm so sorry. I kept saying how I needed you, but you needed me more. You're my ohana Stitch... and I'll always love you.

C'mon guys, I can't be the only one who noticed the similarities between these two sequels.

I suppose 'inner war' is quite a common concept in stories - that said, the designs of both Toothless and Stitch are quite similar, but I hadn't realised the scenes were so alike.

Also, this scene in HTTYD2 is by far my favourite - it's so heartbreaking and scary and emotional that I've had to rewatch this scene just for the feels.

Your artwork for the Lilo & Stitch scene is definitely on-point and looks like the scene straight from the movie. Your HTTYD2 scene is less so, mostly because the film is in 3D but this is more 2D/classic animation. You've still caught the emotion in the scene however. Kudos with this artwork and I hope you continue to experiment with HTTYD art.

Would people stop holding that against Dreamworks, Disney as killed people for years and no calls them out on it. What they did in Httyd 2 was the same as Lion King only more heart breaking I will a mite.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inginuyasha In reply to 1stSuperboyFan [2014-07-13 17:31:23 +0000 UTC]

I don't see how it compares to lion king...Scar murdered his own brother to gain power (lol he was in his right mind) and I'm not holding Dreamworks against it. I thought it was very real, like not every hero that gets mind controlled or put under a spell or loses themselves is not always gonna snap out of it in time to stop from killing others. Now what toothless did broke my heart T^T

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

1stSuperboyFan In reply to inginuyasha [2014-07-14 02:48:50 +0000 UTC]

The lion king compare is that the villain killed main characters father and King with a methond that the main character shears some blame with. I also really like the realized as well.
