This was a made for a Hot Topic apparel design contest a few months ago. Unfortunately I didn't win, but at least I get the chance to share my design idea to you guys. There's always a next time!

This picture really does highlight Lilo and Stitch's relationship. The color and shading is nicely done, and it is well put down to earth. This piece of work is just so cute and well put together, it's just so nice. And the expression they have is just so well put together and shows how much they care for each other. Lilo and Stitch look so true to the movie here, and their hugging pose is super sweet and embodies their family relationship perfectly. ^^ I love how Liloβs face is squished a little from being pressed against Stitchβs. Itβs a thoughtful little detail that elevates the pose that much more. ^^
The leaf and flower design at the bottom looks great too. I love the simple shapes and lineless style, they speak to a great sense of graphic design. I also like how they bring some symmetry to the overall look of the piece.
My one suggestion would be maybe to use colored lineart for Lilo and Stitch rather than just black? Since the floral design is lineless, I feel like Β having colored lines around the characters would integrate the two parts of the design a little more smoothly.
Other than that, I really just love this piece. ^^ And like you said, if thereβs one upside to not winning the contest, itβs that you get to share this beautiful design with us here! <3

Looking at this, I have to say... You should have been one of the finalists. You really should have. This is way better than most of the entries the judges selected. I mean, their selections were so weak overall that a couple finalists actually traced and/or edited official Disney artwork and somehow got nominated.
