Lately, I've been receiving notes of many fans criticizing my work, of how older Lilo looks like an exact clone to Nani.Here's two things I'd like to point out:
1) In the episode skip, it has been confirmed that Lilo would look so much like Nani. I quote on quote Lilo, "I look a little like Nani". Even Stitch later in the episode says Nani's name when he sees Lilo.
2) Why is it that many are whining of how similar they look, but don't say anything of Lilo's super clone daughter in the anime??
Well, not that i've heard of.
It's hard enough to even give Lilo her own unique look, without her looking like Nani. So please give me a break. ( this isn't towards everyone, just those who were bothering me).
To refresh my angry little mind, I've decided to use this argument for a short funny comic. I'm planning to do another one with Toothless and Stitch.

It was harmless IMO it was it's own thing, I don't hate it to the heavens like Teen Titans Go or PPG 2016 but it was better than those shows. It happened and I'm okay with it, heck I'm a true fan of Lilo and Stitch and I sometimes watch it. I just have more patience than others it seems.

Oh, there's no question it's better than those keep-kids-preoccupied-on-car-trips shows. Though I don't see how "PPG 2016" is suitable for kids, but I digress.
My problem isn't the show itself, it's its' own style of cute. It has its' humor - kinda LooneyTunes-ish, I think. I actually enjoyed the show. Then... it committed suicide, so to speak. I was watching the episodes in order and saw the one where Stitch met a little girl whom he recognized as Lilo. She even had the same doll. Following her, he discovered the real Lilo - the little girl's (here's the kicker) mother. And they embraced each other like dear, old friends. Curious, I watched the first episode, and that's what killed it for me.
Lilo got a boyfriend and Stitch felt abandoned?!?! Why? Why did Stitch feel abandoned? Why did Stitch leave Lilo? Why did he move to Japan? Why did Jumba and Pleakly go with him? Why did Stitch get adopted by a little Japanese girl? Why did Gantu and Ruben go to Japan when they could have stayed in Hawaii and captured all the experiments, no problem? How did Angel become a pop star? Why did she become a "gold digger"?
Hmm... which of these should I go with?

Isn't the English dub intended to take place after Leroy and Stitch whereas the Japanese dub in the middle of the first series?

No clue about that. But the Japanese story line makes even less sense like that, considering that would make Lilo full grown and then regressed.

IDK, point is people will look back on the show and laugh, the Japanese dub is better as it doesn't have any mention of Lilo I think, some of the episodes are pretty funny too. The one that had me laugh the most was when Yuna and her friends were turned into toddlers. Yeah it's not perfect but it's not horrible, it's like PPG Z imho.

The reason Lilo gives for why she didn't meet up with Stitch makes absolutely no sense. If Nani was having a baby, wouldn't Stitch be with her in case Nani and David needed his help? Therefore, Lilo would have met up with him there.
Yes, Stitch would have been excited for the day Lilo was going to return, But - Nani would have been obviously about to give birth, Stitch would have overheard Nani tell Lilo about it - if she didn't tell him directly, and it would have been obvious that there was a slight change of plans. So while Nani was in the hospital room giving birth, Lilo and Stitch would could have been in the waiting room - or, at least, the courtyard - catching up on 4 years apart. Never mind the fact that internet calls and cellphones exist, so they shouldn't have been out of touch in the first place.

Well, 3 things: 1)It started with the first episode of the series, so it wasn't a last-minute addition - forced or otherwise.
2)Why would the studio want something that's gonna make fans of the original hate it and, therefore, not watch it. I mean, wouldn't those be the ones they're trying to attract?
3)The way you're defending this, you seem to really like it. Yet, you said it was "okay". Seems like there's something deeper going on here.

When I saw the movies and series as a kid, I never really picked up on or payed that much attention to their sister-relationship. Now that I'm older, I think it's one of the best aspects of the franchise. Lilo and Stitch will always pull focus and be adorable, but good sibling dynamics like these two have are rare and great to watch! Glad to see I'm not the only one!

I loved the anime show and I was always fine with the little clone daughter. It should be obvious that most siblings look a lot alike. I'm 5 years older than my brother but people think we're twins, we don't mind though.

I honestly don't see why anyone is complaining about their similarities a. They are sisters. They are suppose to have physical attributes in common but I'm sure Lilo will be distinguished in some way. Love your piece!

I think you do an excellent job translating Lilo as an adult. If she does look similar to Nani, not only is it canon, but it just makes sense! Besides, there are as many differences in your rendition of the two as there are similarities. This is adorable, anyway. Your work always makes me smile.

I don't see what the big deal is, why are people moaning! They're sisters, they have the same parents; why do people assume they're going to be totally different, yes in some case of family it's true that siblings don't look alike. But it's not the case here, I can't remember the last time I watch Lilo and Stitch or Stitch! or the series, its been years now but even then when Lilo was a little girl, I thought she looked a lot like Nani.
