Description Inspired by   wonderful image called Stitch Differences

Stitch from the original movie was beautifully characterized. Like we all know he started out as an evil little alien seeking anything to destroy, but once he met Nani and Lilo he had changed for the better. He has developed to a sibling to both sisters instead of a pet, and has relied on their acceptance and affection to belong somewhere in the world. Beside being the angel that Lilo asked for, he also symbolized the rage that Lilo felt within her since the death of her parents. Even though he was learning to become good because of Lilo's love and guidance, his presence had also changed Lilo for the better as well, making them both see that they needed one another to find the happiness they wanted.  Due to this, Stitch has become more mature realizing that instead of chaos and destruction, family and love was more important,  and has to protect them no matter what, in which became the new purpose in his life.

Stitch (series): Aside from his way off appearance to the original, this Stitch doesn't seem too bad in my opinion but there are a few things that did bother me a bit. This Stitch seemed to take a step backward in his progress of behavior, becoming a lot more defiant than in the movie. I felt like this Stitch did in fact act more as a pet/toddler than the smarter alien sibling we loved, like if he totally forgot the difference between good or bad. Of course, this was done more for the sake of comedy, which was kinda annoying at times. Also, It bothered me so much that this Stitch didn't seem to be very compassionate to the other characters as he was in the films. Whenever there was a serious situation, Stitch never sympathized for them, since he was too busy playing around somewhere else. I guess it depends on what episode you watch but one good example would be the Remmy episode. Bright side is, that we got the chance to see more of Stitch's strength and fighting here when he had to defend his family, and whenever he did misbehave he did eventually realize what he did and seek for Lilo's advice or do what he could to make things right.

Stitch (anime): nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope!! Not even going to start on this abomination, this one took a step WAAAAAAAAAY back to how the original Stitch is, well actually it doesn't even remotely act like stitch at all.

NOPE

Ranted enough on this puke excuse of a clone, only thing I would like to comment is the weird anime expressions he does, Eww nooo....

anime and disney does not combine (except kingdom Hearts, totally cool with that one.  Even though they too totally ignore Lilo's existence in Stitch's life, seriously WTF??!!).

I love the movie, AND I grew up watching the series so I love both versions. I never really knew a difference until you pointed it out, I just thought he looked different in the series because of improving animation But I have to agree on the big JUST NO for the anime, it's too messed up

It's a very good thing that at least the Walt Disney company still sticks to using the original film Stitch in their marketing, other projects and such, regarding both the TV series and especially the Anime as non-canonical.

Classic Stitch is one hundred times better than after-movie versions of him. TV series one looks low and he sounds more retarted (sorry), anime I even wouldn't comment. Like with some other characters (Jumba, Pleackley)

Well, I used to like anime Stitch when I was younger. I see nothing wrong with this, but this is my opinion. Great work. I like that you used different style of Stitch pretty well.
Your L&S fanarts are really great. I'm impressed.
My favorite is Stitch from movies.
I don't like Stitch from L&S series.
Anime Stitch is okay, but I remember there was not only style of him in this series. In second season he looks well.

Well the differences between the Movie and Series Stitch was not that quit noticeable. I do like how they do get Stitch to realize some of the mistakes he would make and try to make things right in the series. The Anime Stitch is what i like to call  Not-Stitch since he acts nothing like the Stitch I knew and loved. They have him just laying around doing nothing until he is noticed and he would sometimes act like a complete wuss. And don't get me start on that Mary Sue Yuna and their version of Angel who acts more like a spoil bratty Princess.

Excellent job on Stitch in all his evolutions! I personally noticed a little change in animation even between the first and second movie (in facial expressions of some main characters). Stitch just seemed more "cute" and "childish" in the 2nd movie. And that Stitch on this picture reminds me the one from 2nd movie. He's my favorite of all.
Stitch from the TV series is OK to me. He looks worse than in movies but still cute and acceptable. When I draw Stitch, I always draw him in the series style since he's easiest to me. I have a big problem to draw his movie version.
Stitch from the anime looks OK too, but oh, god, I really HATE that anime...... -_- I feel like it's another copy of Pokemon or something. I personally have nothing against the storyline itself, but the thing that bothers me the most is that they got rid of Lilo when original speaks about "Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" and Lilo and Stitch are meant to each other, not Stitch and Yuna. And they also ruined Angel's and Stitch's personality. I hate it to death.

And I also agree with EVERYTHING you menationed in the description.

InkBottleInc [2014-12-29 06:31:41 +0000 UTC]

I think the problem with the anime is they made him a typical 'I WANNA BE THE BEST' type of hero which happens in a lot of cheap, for kids anime series. Stitch, even at his most bratty, never came off to me as such a character and from what he learned from the others I don't understand why he WOULD. After all, they had an episode based on how Stitch is effected by another alien where he HAS to be the best and it turns him into a massive jerk which was shown to be a BAD thing because of it.

I know Stitch is popular in Japan and I like how it sort of expanding the character's life in the Disneyverse but yeah, the anime was just meeeeeeeeeeh because it was just so bland.

Very nice recapturing of all the different styles. I wonder why they made Stitch so bright in the TV series and the Anime? In "Lilo and Stitch 2", they reverted his colors to how they were in the original movie. Speaking of "Stitch has a Glitch", I thought his personality lined up pretty well with his original, if not building on it.

I agree completely!

This is one of the many reasons why I consider the second movie as the only canon sequel compared to the others. Although I'm not crazy about the series movies, Leroy and Stitch was alright, not the best but it was decent.

I couldn't agree more about that anime. I used to dislike the TV show, but I actually feel like I've misjudged them because they didn't live up to what I expected of something featuring these characters.

An absolute shame, and Stitch's expression if he saw it is exactly what you drew here I believe. Excellent work.

trash-dove In reply to ??? [2014-12-25 13:29:16 +0000 UTC]

Idk, the Stitch from the TV series and from the anime look the same to me. I think the anime Stitch you drew is more of what's just put on his merchandise in Japan. Then again I could be wrong.

Really though to me he's still the same good ol' blue fluffy trog we all know and love. uwu I never noticed any OOCness until someone mentioned it, and even then, the fact that it's for comedy sort of excuses it imo? (I didn't even realize that either until you brought it up) It can be annoying though I admit.

Even if Stitch is way different, I still love the series and anime because I'm so easily entertained. xD

I love the movie Stitch the most obviously, but I also absolutely love the American series. I own the whole thing! And I agree with the anime one, just a big NOPE and should have never existed. I love my anime, and I'm even part Japanese, but they really should have left Stitch alone. The anime stitch is so gag worthy it's not even funny. They destroyed any fragment of his actual personality he had left. Not to mention, HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE LILO AND LILO WOULD NEVER LEAVE HIM! Silly Japanese people. lmao

Accidental-Strix [2014-12-24 04:06:14 +0000 UTC]

I think Stitch and Lilo are probably the only living things that seem to get younger as they get older. The original movie was made... when? I dunno, but as time progressed and it became more popular it just became too much. I just pretend the series and anime don't exist, lol.

But seriously, I LOVE how you draw Stitch. *pukes rainbows*

May I express one of the things that I disliked about Lilo and Stitch: The Series was the overuse of lines that were used only ONCE in the original film. For example:

Oh-ha-hiii!

Stitch only said this in the film because he was unsure of what to say or how to greet Lilo. But they used it in the series EVERY TIME he greeted someone.

Also, Pleakley's overuse of the word "fascinating". *headdesk*

Anyway, this is gorgeous! Well done! I never realized how much change there was in his appearance!

 and yes, I totally agree!

Stitch's greeting was the one that bothered me more than Bleakley's though.

It did get old after a while, and every time he said it I was like "No..no. Only works in the movie."

Have'ta agree with you, though it's not surprising the anime is so different since it was made by different people. Honestly, the thing that bugs me the most about the anime is the voice actors. They just don't sound anything like the originals and not in a good way.
