First fan art I done of these guys in ages. I just had this sudden urge to draw Jazz & Spaz Jackrabbit.Well, I'm sure you'll agree it makes a change from Sonic the Hedgehog!
Actually, I first came across this now-sadly-neglected character years ago when I found a shareware version of his original game on an old Games CD. I got straight into the game!
I later got Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and was just as amused by his wacky little brother Spaz! I still dig that game out when I randomly feel like it...
Anyway, my own take on the Jackrabbit brothers.
Artistic freedom has been taken, but I've stuck pretty close to their true appearances.
I just can't help adding little things like eyebrows, soles to Spaz's shoes and drawing Jazz rather more straight-legged than he appeared in the games!

Yes, I heard about that a long time ago... sad really that Jazz doesn't seem to get much attention these days...
Still, funny things happen. If even Bubsy Bobcat could get brought out of the dumpster after all these years, maybe Jazz could yet make a comeback? They already remastered Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon!

My point was that if Jazz Jackrabbit and his siblings only had the sort of attention other characters of their day had, they might not have faded to obscurity.

I know, If Jazz replaced Sonic, I'd see Jazz '06 being really good but it would be overshadowed by Gears of War.

Nah.
Epic Games would care about ther bunny so executive meddleing would not play a factor and it's not like the publishing executives are gonna do anything.
also Jazz 06 would've taken a three year development cycle so it wouldn't be rushed but it would come out six weeks before Gears of War would come out as well at the time.

Yeah, perhaps Epic Games would have actually put in some effort... besides, they had Eva Earlong, so it's not like they'd need some dumbass-in-distress human princess to rescue... since Eva was both a princess and somewhat more capable of at least trying to stand up for herself!
Hmmm... also, if Jazz had remained popular, he might have provided the Sonic Team with some competitive incentive to make sure their own modern games didn't suck (according to the fanbase, that is - personally, I've mainly liked the games)

Well, I always tended to play as Jazz myself - although I would later play as Spaz a second time through, just to balance it out!
Though, as you see here, I draw Jazz more straight-legged than he appears in the game... I never could figure out how an accessory-wearing rabbit with no pants could comfortably stand like this ([link] ) and not feel either acute embarrassment or cramp...

Rayman Origins is a good example for those from Epic Games to create an online jazz that are sure to be successful, but unfortunately they do not care

Well, I haven't even seen any proper new Jazz games since JJ2... as I say, I don't count the GameBoy Advance version, since that's not even the same rabbit.
