What a majestic pose here, and I have to admit, as far as accuracy goes, I think you nailed the wing details dead on accurate! I'm very happy those tutorials I showed you really helped out big time!

Kestrels and sparrowhawks and suchlike are generally common in the UK, but golden eagles are rarer and only really present in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Seems that eagles in general have a lot of trouble with illegal egg-poachers...

There's more to that, way back in recent history, most of the American Bald Eagle population went to a very sharp decline due to the use of various pesticides such as DDT (which thankfully is now outlawed) and there have been a lot of efforts to bring the American eagles back from the brink as it IS a symbol of our nation.

Ah yeah, those chemical pesticides sure didn't help...
And especially when rain washes it all into rivers, which poisons the fish... and in turn poisons predators including the humans themselves...
Man is supposed to be the most intelligent creature on the planet... but humanity as a whole is mighty stupid...
Hopefully eagles are doing better these days... in America as well as in Scotland! (Apparently, golden eagles have switched to safe Green status on the RSPB site... in the past, I seem to remember that they were on Amber status because there was a concern)
