Description
I'm often inspired by something, whether it's Sonic the Hedgehog, or Rayman, or Redwall... but this time, I was inspired by one of my favourite passages from the Bible!(Seems I always prefer stories with a plot, or the stuff about fighting the Lord's battles - as opposed to, say, the poetry of Psalms and Prophets)
It's about the spiritual war we face as believers, describing hypothetical "armour" with which to defend ourselves against attack. Of course, if it was a literal battle, I imagine God's Armour would look pretty epic, and some pieces such as the Shield of Faith or the Sword of the Spirit might reflect our individual personalities.
~Ephesians 6:10-20~
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devilβs schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lordβs people.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Very beautiful work! I like how you were able to create the shadows of the characters as well as the lighting and how you were able to create an almost three dimensional feel to your work.
I especially love the emotion that you were able to convey through the characters, especially from the character on the left.
As a constructive criticism, I suggest you be careful with proportion as well as composition. The mouse on the left seems to be in an awkward position that doesn't flow with the position of the other characters. He seems to be slanted a bit, but other than that good work!

Thanks very much! I really tried to put in the effort on this one.
Heh, poor old Spencer (rat, not mouse) - he always has the manner of one too scared to face battle. But yeah, maybe it's the position of his legs that gives the impression of a slight slant.

I did that for fun because I saw the drawing, so I decided to write a line from Shadow Sly's book.

Danbuster: We stand by a pretty similar principle here, I guess... standing up in the knowledge that our Lord God is with us.

That was the line Lord Shadow Sly wrote after he fought several forces of evil in order to protect the world he was born in, I like to type those when ever I feel happy. I'm going to create a video upon Shadow Sly's anniversary and I'm excited to do so.

I already have it done. I use my Nintendo 3DS to record while I use my laptop to play the music, the WiiU gamepad and the television for sounds. I also have a custom thumbnail set up as well.

Thanks very much! It's certainly one of the more descriptive passages - and I kind of go for the whole "armour" thing, as if in a set-up for a big action-scene!

You're very wellcome!
Danbuster reminds me of a character i saw
in a movie recently. It takes place in the
Holy Lands during the Crusades. He was a
blacksmith who became the main defender
of Jurusalem.Your scene reminded me of it.

Wonderful concept, especially Danbuster and Spencer look decent as knights of the Faith.
I'd only replace Frederick's scimitar with more European-looking weapon, since the swords with curved blades are rather oriental weapons:
- Ancient Egyptians ( from the Pharaoh times ) wielded Khopesh swords [link] - the pharaoh, who prosecuted Moses and Aaron must have used this type of weapon;
- Muslim warriors have fought with scimitars ( like Frederick in Your pic [link] )
- even better known are Japanese swords katana, wakizashi and no-dachi [link] & [link]

DCLeadboot In reply to RTJDudek [2012-06-11 23:02:01 +0000 UTC]
I guess I exaggerated on Frederick's sword, but perhaps I meant to show a graceful side. Perhaps if I'd made it look more like an Elvish falx! [link]
Thanks very much, mate!
Glad it turned out all right!

That passage should be a good reminder to all christians around here Even though I'm not a religious person, people shall not be trolled by me for their own beliefs, though when they try to convert me while I clearly stated I do not believe, then they enter my own personal thinking pattern and they shall be facing the full force of my personality....
Anyway, this shows Ihow I view you as a Christian, really Unshaken, but noble, you are awesome in that way that you never tried to 'convert' anyone, but are also not faced by critisism from other regarding the matter
Go you, Dan
