Description
full view is really a must if you like bloodWell, i've been watching lots of samurai hardcore movies, with bloody scenes.. can you tell ? the thing is that a day ago i watched "zatoichi: the blind swordsman" and it was a visual orgasm.. i HAD to do something with the theme.. and here it is.
Quick vector piece, simple but it speaks by itself. I really don't have to tell you what happened there.. you can see it for yourself.
Done in illustrator CS 100% - little reference for thie piece, like my hand on the floor and the bridge.
thanks to ~z4sit4 & ~lady-alessandra for constructive criticism during the process.
hope you like it.
Here's a black & white version - i couldn't decide, i like them both

apart from the blood splatter in the bottom left ocrner of the top (middle) section seeming a bit... out of place / misaligned this is an awesome piece of art!
i totally love bloody samurai games and films! (crazy that people like to turn the blood settings off )

Very nice. I love the shadows and the detail, even in the background.
Something about the blood bothers me, though. (I have no problem with blood, that's not the issue) The patterns on the screens suggest that there should be a path leading to the floor. Or, if the door was slid open after all the bloodshed was over, the patterns should be overlapped - right now it looked like someone just removed the panel in the middle to make an opening.
Otherwise, great job. I like this a lot better than the black and white version. The blood really stands out in this. In the black and white version, you kind of go, "Hmm, what's those splattery things on the shioji screens? Blood? Sillhouettes of something else?" In this version, there's no doubt.
Anyway, sorry for the long ramble. I've just recently gotten into vector art, and this piece caught my eye while I was browsing.

nice work. The only thing that could use some work is the blood since it looks kinda like a brush or maybe the detail on the bridge. good stuff

cool. I've been wondering about the whole print aspect of DA and had a couple questions if you wouldnt mind answering. Like when did you decide to invest in a print account, do you make as many prints as you can and how many do you make, and how have you made. Any answers to any combination of the questions would be really appreciated. Im contemplating investing the 30 dollars and getting a prints account and really getting serious about prints and stuff to start a career in art. thanks man

The thing is, i didn't. Someone bought me a print account. I have only 2 works that are available for print, because i do not have time to export them in the propper resolution deviantart asks. You can not print any work you like, it has to be approved by dA policy and copyright issues. If you used stock, the same thing. You work, with vectors so resolution and image quality is not a problem.
Selling prints is not easy, i have the print account since 2 months, and i have sold 8 prints. DeviantArt takes 50% of the profit made, from the base cost. That leaves you with little.
So you should consider buying a print account.

wow, I didn't know anyone really used the be generous button. Im considering it, but I would like to get some more publicity before I do so any prints I make have at least a chance. thanks for the answer though man, really appreciate it.

that's really a great picture. i love the silhouette effect you've done and the blood splatter looks great
i think it's quite an effective tactic to leave everything else in b/w except the blood it does give a visual impact

x3 The red is really nice with the black, grey and white. It helps the picture stand out . Awesome picture, the blood looks great. It's not too fakey or anything
. The hand lying across the ground and the shadows are nice. Ack, I just love this picture <3.
