Description
This whole scene (the title included) is ripped right from the epilogue to one of my FFVIII fanfictions. It's also a play on the scene in the flower fields where Squall and Rinoa make a promise of reunion to each other in Final Fantasy VIII.I'm such a sucker for happy endings, at least with these two.

I don't like it - or any theories surrounding the game, really. Some actually rather anger me. That particular one doesn't - I just don't believe it. The main logic that people use for the theory's basis is that sorceresses have extended life-spans. However, nowhere in the game does it ever state such a thing. So, I have no idea where people got such a concept. I have played, and completed, Final Fantasy VIII at LEAST 20 times by now, and never once read that anywhere during the conversations between characters.
The way I see it, if people are willing to believe any theory derived from the game... we might as well believe Ultima Weapon is Cloud Strife since it wields his Butterfly Edge.
I just think people read TOO much into the game's story - and also have way too much time on their hands; more than I do.
If you support the theory/theories, I mean no offense. It's just my personal perspective.

To be honest I really like that theory. Of course some arguments are just nonesense. But the others convince me. I read alot about that theory because it really interests me and it makes sense to me. I know that we interpret a little bit too much in the game's story but for some people like me that theory makes really sense and we like and love it.

Well, to each his own. I'll admit that it makes more sense than other theories about the game, but I still don't believe it.
Believe me though, R=U supporters did not read as much into the game's details as those supporting other theories. I think it might hold some merit, but the basis of the theory is weak to me.

Well, I really only know of one and it TOTALLY angers me. It holds no merit, whatsoever, and has the weakest basis I've ever heard.
Aye...I hate just bringing it up, but it's the whole "Squall's Dead" theory. Basically, people believe that, after he was hit with Edecia's (just my word for "Edea/Ultimecia", lol) Ice Strike at the end of Disc 1, that he died - and, from what I've read, the main logic is because he doesn't have a wound at the start of Disc 2.
Meanwhile, we don't get to see what happens in-between, so I don't believe we should just assume. It's a game; and on top of that, it's a FINAL FANTASY game where magic and other supernatural-type things (for lack of a better word) take lead. All of the reasons used to support it, I find to be completely ridiculous because people don't take into account the geographical limits of each disc.

I absolutely understand you. And I think I read one time about that theory. And I really don't like it. It just makes me facepalming. I don't know how to explain it right (and my english isn't that good xD).
Lol. In the german version is Ultimecia called Artemisia so I've never thought of to combine Edea and Ultimecia. It would. sound weird... hum... maybe Edeamisia? XD

Glad to know someone else agrees with me. I know of a few others whom do, too. I understand people can believe what they want to believe, but that particular theory just shows me how ignorant people can be.

Yeah, I read about that. I don't remember what her name is in Japanese though. Maybe still Ultimecia? And, lol. Coming up with combined names can be difficult. I just do it for fun sometimes.

Yeah, it is a good theme. I didn't really like "Premonition" at first, but it sort of grew on me. It's a bit freaky and ominous, and at the same time...enticing.
