Goddess of magic, witchcraft, graves, the undead, necromancy, crossroads, liminal spaces, and the boundary between the living and dead. She holds the keys to the Underworld and Tartarus. Her main job is to guard the gates of the Underworld and allow or deny entry to those who wish to enter into the realm of the dead.
Design Notes
Hecate is built like an Egyptian Arabian. She has a very dished face, overall light frame, and a high carriage tail. Halter bred Arabians are an especially good reference for her body type. The feathering on her legs can either be medium like that of a Friesian or dense like that of a Clydesdale. Her ears are long like that of a donkey.
Hecate's hooves and horn are both made of sparkling white diamonds that shimmer brilliantly enough to give off a faint glow. Hecate also has diamond earrings attached to her ears that are exactly the same as her hooves and horn. The earrings are not removeable, they physically grow on her ears.
Hecate's mane and tail fade into a fine mist at the ends. Generally, the mist flows upwards. The mist is cool and feels like water vapor. When enraged, Hecate's mane and tail can combust into a blue fire and the mist becomes a dark smoke instead. When drenched, the mist solidifies and becomes normal hair. As her hair dries off, it slowly returns to that misty state.
Hecate's wings are optional and are composed of pure magic. While typically feathered, the wings can be of any variety including fairy, bat, and butterfly. Feathered is just her favorite! Her will-o-wisp crown generally always sits around her head. Their position is not static and they can move around, so they can be framed around her head in whatever angles may be most appealing. The will-o-wisps do have functional use and Hecate can send them off to lure others, though this is very rare. When using magic, glowing turquoise smoke is emitted from her horn.

Personality
Hecate is quite the complex character, given that she has existed for thousands of years. Multiple terms can be used to quantify certain aspects of her personality, but no amount of terminology can ever fully encompass her entire being.
Wise - Hecate being as old as she is, has seen much of life and the hardships of mortals. On the rare occasions she provides advice, it is best to listen.
Studious - As the witch of all witches, Hecate is well-versed in magic, spells, and everything that encompasses them. She has a vast library full of books on the subjects and spends a decent time in her library refreshing her memory.
Clever - Hecate is fairly intelligent and can solve the hardest of puzzles if she so tries. She is quick to pick up the schemes and plans of others.
Airhead - Despite how smart she actually is, Hecate likes to just "turn off" her brain when she doesn't want to think anymore. This has created too many instances of her accidentally hurting herself as well as a wide array of embarrassing social situations.
Shameless - Situations are embarrassing for others involved. Hecate could care less and proceeds on like nothing ever happened.
Prankster - If there's one thing Hecate loves, it's pulling a good prank. At least, what she calls pranks. She loves to troll until someone becomes enraged and scare until someone may be quite literally shitting themselves. She sees no problem with this, so she continues to do them, and has become notorious and hated for her various gimmicks.
Agitable - Hecate does not like to be disturbed, much less bothered. She is quick to snap at anyone once she feels they have become annoying, and usually that is as soon as they appear in her line of vision.
Authoritative - When Hecate is in one of her more serious moods, she becomes quite stern and starts to bark orders at others. She has a commanding presence that makes it hard to ignore when she demands something.
Cruel - Hecate is harsh with her punishments. She casts curses that are perhaps worse than the crimes she feels was inflicted. She never kills, but many of her curses can directly drive someone to a painful and agonizing death. It is best to never anger her.
Terrifying - In combination with being cruel and authoritative, Hecate is an immensely scary being. And she makes sure she presents this way as well through aesthetics and posture. She wants you to be scared of her.
Flirtatious - Hecate is quite sexually liberated, or a slut if you'd prefer that term. She loves to use her sexuality to make others uncomfortable. Many of her nights are... Not spent alone.
Immature - Despite her age, she loves to act like she's a young teenager who thinks they know everything.
Protective - For those who have fully dedicated themselves to the study of witchcraft, they have the protection of Hecate. Even more so if they are dedicated to her. Often described as being motherly sometimes. But just like a mother, she can be a mama bear and does not tolerate threats to her followers.
Sneaky - Hecate likes to move quietly in the shadows. You will not know of her presence if or until she wants you to be aware that she if there.
Vain - Being full of herself is almost an understatement. Hecate thinks she's the greatest and most powerful being to ever exist and to an extent... She is completely justified in thinking so.
Trivia
Hecate likes to move slowly, like each and every step has purpose. You will seldom see her move faster than a trot.
Valerie considers Hecate to be her wife, but Hecate doesn't consider Valerie to be a romantic partner, and rather considers her to be an annoyance instead. She also considers Valerie to be a loyal friend, and so lets the mare tag along with her, so long as she stays out of Hecate's way.
Hecate is a ghost, and so can phase through walls and objects as well as turn invisible. It can be almost impossible to detect her presence.
Hecate has never been alive, she's always been dead. Thus, she can never be killed because she was never alive to begin with. She can however, be forced to reincarnate.
During the Titanomachy, Hecate sided with Zeus and the Olympians. Born a Titan, she became a Goddess when the Olympians won the war. Highly honored by Zeus because of her support, she is the only Titan to keep all of her massive influence over the mortals that before, every Titan had. Many of the Olympians do not possess such power.
Hecate has the power of necromancy, which means that she can being beings back from the dead either partially (such as an animated skeleton, zombie, or ghost) or fully (resurrection). Hades himself granted her this power, and she is free to use it at her discretion. So far only one being has been fully resurrected from the dead by her.
The poisonous wolfsbane plant was created by her. As it is her own creation, this plant is sacred to her.
Hekate was the name of her previous form, Hecate is the name of her current form. Hecate has none of Hekate's memories and considers her a different individual despite being the exact same spirit and being very similar to each other in personality and appearance. She still retains her memories from when she was a human goddess, however.
