    Chapter 8: Almost safe

       I couldn't see anything but darkness. I couldn't even move, I was still in pain. I felt something tight on me, it was holding me down. I started to hear voices, I didn't reconigze a lot of them until I heard one voice, it was Cream's, she was crying and I also heard Vanilla trying to calm her down. I really wanted to get up and show Cream that I'm fine but couldn't. Then I heard one voice that almost made me cry, I heard Knuckles, he was helping some people carry me somewhere. I felt his hand on my head, his touch was one thing I needed right now. I heard engines go off and I also heard a beeping sound. Knuckles was next to me as the ambulance started going to the hospital. He was holding my hand and stroking my hair gently.

   By the time we got to the hospital Knuckles and some other people took me inside. They got me a room and they laid me on a bed in a near by hospital room. Wires were hooked up to me and the pain in my body started to stop.

   An hour went by and I fell asleep a few minutes after I got in the hospital. I woke up, I opened my eyes a little and it was sunny outside. I looked around and I found Knuckles sitting on a chair next to me, holding my hand and sleeping. I saw many flowers on the side and a bouquet of roses in Knuckles' other hand and smiled. I tried to get up but my back started to hurt so I just laid there. I just closed my eyes but I didn't fall asleep. I heard Knuckles starting to wake up so I pretended to sleep. He got up and put the roses at the end of the bed and went out of the room. I opened my eyes and reached far enough to grab the roses and read the card that was on it.

Amy,

   I hope you get better soon, I don't know what I'll do if you ever left. You mean too much to me, I heard on what happened, and I promise, I will protect you forever. Get well soon.

   Knuckles.

  I blushed and smiled, I put the roses back and laid back down. Knuckles came back in with a glass of water and he saw me awake and smiled.

Knuckles: Hey..
Amy: Hey Knuckles..
Knuckles: How you feeling?
Amy: Lousy I guess.
Knuckles: heh, you want some water?
Amy: Thanks...

  My voice was low though. I drank some of the water and Knuckles sat back down. Then he took my hand again and had a serious face.

Knuckles: Sonic did this to you....
Amy: Y-yeah...he did.
Knuckles: Amy?
Amy: Yes?
Knuckles: I promise you, I'll hurt Sonic for what he did to you. He had no right, he's gonna pay.

     My ears lowered, Knuckles REALLY wants to hurt Sonic. I didn't say anything at this point, I just lowered my ears. Knuckles came closer to me and hugged me. I hugged him back, his fur was warm and soft and I just closed my eyes.

(Knuckles P.O.V)

  I'm never going to forgive Sonic, the blue bastard. If he laid another finger on Amy I would kill him. Here Amy was in the hospital, I should have stayed with her, to protect her. I found out Sonic's foot was broken so now he won't be able to run from me. When Amy gets out of the hospital, Sonic is my target.

(Knuckles P.O.V)

I found out Sonic's foot was broken so now he won't be able to run from me. When Amy gets out of the hospital, Sonic is my target.
