Her name has never actually been said in the show.
People just made it up based on her cutie mark (a lyre).
Technically, her original name was Heartstrings according the the blindbag toys ([link] ) but Hasbro did a crazy-cool thing when they released the next wave of toys a few months later ([link] ).
So Lyra is now semi-canon!

'Canon' essentially means 'official.'
A character or piece of information is considered 'canon' when it is directly mentioned or endorsed in the show itself (or the toy line in Lyra's case).
This is opposed to 'fanon' which is all of the stuff that fans make up.
