Description
The Lancer is the standard infantry mech in the Mechanized Armored Battalion it is designed to be quickly adaptable to many situations with an interchangeable back attachments for extra guns, rocket pods, jump jets etc.instead of built in weapons it was designed with hands to hold premade weapons witch can be selected at the last minute when deployed
the Lancer has also has a stand-by AI that allows it to operate without a pilot (in a limited capacity) this combined with the quad split cockpit design allows for easy mount and dismounting in the field.
Mass: 50 Tons
Height: 38 Feet
Speed: 55 Mph
Armament:
the Lancer's equipment is easily altered before a mission to outfit it for any task, these can range from 90mm assault rifles to experimental plasma railguns. there are four main backpacks, a dual pod rocket mount, Mark-2 50mm chain gun, lift kit, and a long range scanner and communication package. these will vary amongst a squadron so any role can be readily fulfilled on the battlefield.
NOTES:
the lancer wasn't originally designed to be so similar to the Titanfall Atlas but after I designed the cockpit and started on the arms I realized it was going to very similar and started using the Atlas as a reference for some of the other designs (hip plating and thigh design most notably)
this is the first time ive used mixel joints on a major build and i'm surprised at how well they hold up to the weight of the hands and guns
the cockpit also ejects from the mech body, although I didn't try to get that in a shot since I figured it would look ridiculous anyway.
there are a few more shots on my Flickr!

Very Cool design on this! Mabye if you included some light bluish grey it would make the standard gray pop a bit more though...overall i am really digging this!

Thanks!!
All of the light grey on the mech is the bluish variety... Some of the guns have some standard light grey but I usually don't use much of either old greys for anything other than filler

Wow! Very cool design! (I thought this was a CG image at first.)
I'm not surprised you're an engineering student; you'd need to be, to come up with something that complex, buildable, and functional.

Wow! Thanks man! That really means a lot to me!
Ive always strived to keep my designs as functional as possible! Even if it seemed easier to lock it all into a fixed statue!

Many thanks, buddy, - this will help! We've found a fellow who provided us with references of dieselpunk-style mechas of his own design, but still need refs for futuristic fraction - yours would fit well into a game concept. And, of course, we'll credit you and your mechas in our project(with links to your profile here on DA).
All the info and links you could find on my main page here on DA.
A bit later i'll tell you which mecha from your gallery i'd take to model in 3d.

Thank you!
Though I didn't quite get everything in focus
Tweaked some settings on the camera so maybe the next one will be better!

No worries, buddy - it's Ok.
May i use one of your guns/mechas as a reference in our non-commercial game project?
