Hi there, if you have a look at when this was posted you'll see that this was a few years ago. This was my first attempt at the cracked skin effect and so I felt like making a tutorial. Since then I've improved upon the 'end result' but haven't updated the tutorial as there are others on dA already, unless you feel that there isn't - in which case, why not upload your own?

To give credit where it's due I didn't create the eye, I just applied our tutorial to another person's amazing work.
Your tutorial was awesome! It was simple, which is what I needed as outside the Lightsabers the Lily pics were only the second photomanips I've ever done and I'd had the image of her look in my head since before I even applied it to her. It was nice to bring it to life, I just wish I had it back when the character of her mother was around too lol. www.wix.com/ubernessrae/Lily I made a new website for her, and it of course features the artwork your tutorial made possible. It won't allow me to drag the peeling texture on to the other photo of my face. Howcome?

I put a layer on it. And when I tried the free transform i said could not because the layer was empty?

hm thats a little odd.
you definately had the right layer selected when you were pasting didnt you? so many times ive gone to do something and i've not had the right layer clicked

The only thing that I noticed were the cracks don't look realistic to me right now... would setting the second crack layer to burn and dropping the opacity down maybe increase the feeling of depth?
And it could just be my old crappy monitor playing with me...
