The tainted red sky produced by the descending sun over the horizon enhanced this special moment. The young beauty stood motionless, her stomach turning in knots and her palms gathering moist. It wasn't too long before she felt her cheeks flare up, matching the same shade of red the male had in his cheeks since they'd been standing there. Stirring enough courage to begin speaking, she shifted her glance back over to those chocolate hues.
"Joey...I-I..."

The roaring waves crashed at the edge of the cliff side. A cool breeze gently brushed the loose leaves from an oak tree, making them rattle before cascading onto the soft earth beneath. Such a captivating scenery, but the dark blonde male payed no attention to it whatsoever. His eyes were completely lost in the stunning beauty he had before him. He tried to hide his blush but failed enormously, causing his embarrassed face to seem as red as a stop sign.

Finally, with a deep exhalation, the female duelist uttered out those words that had been at the tip of her tongue for months now. "...I-I love you." If possible, her blush exceed Wheeler's. All the courage she gathered to finally voice her heart's plea diminished and she shifted her gaze back to the ground, unable to look him in the eye any longer.

Stunned by her words, he found himself speechless. Never in a million years, would he imagine that she felt the same way he did since their first encounter. He'd travel to the shadow realm and back again and again if it meant saving his true love. He planned on confessing his feelings for her at the end of their little outing to the town. But apparently Mai beat him to it.

She felt almost embarrassed she confessed it after a few more moments of silence. Perhaps he didn't feel the same way? Did she just ruin a perfectly good friendship? A billion questions buzzed in her head but they were abruptly cast aside as a familiar sensation of warmth and security cupped her face and redirected her gaze back at its owner. He was only mere centimeters away from her. She could feel his sweet rhythmic breathing. He whispered affectionately into her ear "I love you too, Mai." And before she could react, he brushed his lips against hers in a tender kiss. Her eyes widen in shock and began to cloud up with tears. She closed her eyes and let herself be taken away by the lovely kiss. They embraced each other and shared their first kiss under the impeccable heavens.
