I don't know whether or not it's because I like browns and blues as a combination in general really or because I naturally have an affinity for wolves, but something about this picture immediately caught my eye, calling out to me.
To me, this picture has a lot of meaning, although I'm not entirely sure if it was intentional or if it's just me reading too much into it.. This wolf seems to be quite old, which I think is the effect of the brushes that you used on the fur, making it look a little matted in places.. It's the eyes too, they hold such weight and sorrow behind them, gazing out into the sunset almost as though it was to blame.. Or as though it could help it.. The use of the warmer lighting to the right, reflecting in the eyes, suggests that there's something more ahead, where the wolf wants to get to perhaps, but the expression on the face and the colder blues merging into its fur seem to hold it back, leaving it only able to look on, waiting and longing..
The brushstrokes on this are lovely, and the detail gone into the expression of this is extraordinary. The background, funnily enough, is one of my most favourite parts of this as well.. So simple, yet so effective.. Congratulations, an instant fave e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Firstly let me explain few things... I don't like realistic wolf art that used contrast colours and smudge tool or fur brushes.
But it is a piece with a lot of emotion. It does really stand out of other wolf art like this. I like it.
Lip looks a little exaggerated, but it's both a con and pro. It adds a feel of emotion to the piece yet makes it a little unrealistic.
I would put more detail into nose. Nostrils seem somewhat misplaced and the top of nose look too narrow to me.
Fur strands below the muzzle are distracting and, I think, don't fit the fur direction there.
Great painting anyway. Good job on fur and eyes.

Wow, let me start off by saying that I thought is was a photograph when I first saw this. Then I thought the timing was way too perfect for a photo like this. You had me convinced it was a photo! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="25" height="25" alt="

The fur texture is exquisite and the anatomy is spot, even down to the muzzle of the wolf. The lighting is the star here, with an amazing sunset to top off an already perfect piece of art, I'd say give yourself a bow

The detail in the face is just incredible. I also like the harmony of the warm and cool colors because it has been included in every part of this image.
