Weapons:
'Unbreakable Will'- The weapon Turok made when he first came to the Dromund Empire, which went through many redesigns and ornamental changes, all of which Turok did himself. When he left Dorkmund Ravaas to return to the Covenant, the Will was left in the Emperor's Palace Chambers. The sword remained guarded by the Seething Guard. When the Emperor returned to lead the Empire, he reclaimed the sword in his re-coronation.
'Crushing Punishment'- When Turok runs into battle, he's often seen to whip out his Blood Red Energy sword, with a mighty crimson blade which can slice metal and block many forms of fire. Sometimes it can also burn with a powerful flame of energy. Turok's sword, like many other Dark Alchemist-designed Energy swords, can be charged with Dark energy (most effective with lightning) to enhance it's damage output. In other words, if it's charged with lightning, Crushing Punishment will not only kill but will also be able to shock targets as well.
'Conqueror of Doomed Worlds'- It's not often a weapon comes along that would make Turok Nar 'Mgragath consider using in spite of Dark Alchemy or his sword. His custom designed and heavily modified and compacted Type-33 Fuel Rod Gun with terribly scary upgrades and an energy blade that would make Ravtuk halt his quest for power, is that weapon. Mounted on his right arm through some sort of shackle, the Dark Lord and Emperor of the Dark Ascendant Empire uses this weapon to rip through his foes at deadly speed and murderous effectiveness. With his upgrades, the last rod in every clip packs an extra surprise, containing 5 times the explosive power of ordinary rounds. In addition, it doesn't even fire fuel rods, it fires gamma-irridated plasma, but it can also fire fuel rods. So? What do you want for Christmas NOW hmm?
'Cannon of Riots'- Turok, when he hasn't got the Conqueror equipped, uses two pistol-like weapons similar to it mounted on both his gauntlets, both can be fired individually, but are not so powerful or easy to use, so when he brings his arms close together, the weapons can combine to form a much larger cannon, much more powerful and accurate. For this reason, the weapon is presumably telescopic, and requires a steady aim. The combined weapon is equally as powerful as the Conqueror, so you might be wondering why he ever uses this and not just the Conqueror, well, that is because the Conqueror is not as portly or comfortable to use, it is very heavy. But still, both make for excellent weapons of mass destruction.

Personality: Across the galaxy, the name Turok invokes fear and terror. Raw power with an unslakable thirst for more. A warlord intent on domination, not just of their Empire, but of all Empires... and for some, all of existence. The awesomely powerful Turok is, in many ways, a fallen hero.
Turok Nar 'Mdragath was not always the viciously powerful and brutally direct leader of the Desticrons: He rose up from the oppressed lower working castes of Karrovar to become a champion in the region's gladitorial deathmatches. He called for an end to the Covenant's decrepit caste system and told the downtrodden that freedom of self-determination was the right of all sentient beings! He was once brothers-in-arms with Thora 'Marumee and a student of Sentinan 'Privard, appointed to be head of the Covenant Reclamation Service. But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and Turok's later Desticron revolution, like many such movements, ended up becoming a whole new tyranny. Turok resented his comrade, knowing he was Sentinan's favoured student. This anger allowed The Ruinous to ensnare him and led to the revival of the Desticrons. Even without The Ruinous, it's not hard to imagine that Turok would have erupted the whole Covenant into civil war to rid himself of Thora. As a young, charismatic leader forged in battle and the heritage of war, he began to believe in a grand purpose for his race—it is the glorious destiny of the strong to rule an empire which will span the universe. The opposite of his mortal enemy Thora 'Marumee, he feels great contempt for others who, he feels, betray their proud heritage by demanding peace and cooperation with the weak. It is the destiny of the Desticrons to bring order to the universe through conquest, though in the many years since coining this purpose it remains to be seen how much of his mission statement is altruistic... and how much of it is mere words built to fuel warriors to further his desire for personal power.
Powerful, charismatic, violent, and full of rage for any who would stand in the way of his ambition and drive, 'Mdragath brought High Charity past the brink of destruction. Now he and his former brother-in-arms Thora fight on other worlds. Turok will never forgive 'Marumee for "betraying" him. He has reserved for his old friend the greatest honour possible: glorious death at his hands.
'Mdragath tends to become so obsessed with the object of his desires that he can ignore "secondary" matters, glaring flaws in his plans. Otherwise, he likely wouldn't have chased after the Progenitor alone, and nearly gotten himself killed. Trying to talk him out of blindly going for his goals is useless. He will risk his world, his troops, and even his own life to achieve his goals; these things do not matter to 'Mdragath. Like his master, Turok feels a violent hatred to those who refuse their rule and views them as only slightly above bacteria, a feeling exacerbated by spending decades as their servant.
Despite this fatal flaw, Turok did not achieve his dreaded status through simple warmongering. He's a manipulative, cunning strategist who can plan multiple schemes spanning millennia, and while they may overlap, they all help him towards his one, true goal: the restoration of High Charity. For all his evils, Turok genuinely strives to save his home some day, even if it means he has to rule it with his iron fist and put his bloodlust to good use to do so.
Some would question his sanity, though these few are mostly now dead by his hands... or his cannon, depending on his mood. Sometimes he uses his sword or mace to strike them down. It does not matter how they die. Death by the hands of Turok Nar 'Mdragath is an honour.
The young Turok 'Mdragath was born on Sangheilios alongside his brother, Zuka. It is unknown what happened between the earliest days of their lives and when they were enslaved by the Badlanders, a group of heretics who enslaved young Sangheili they came across, Turok and Zuka were forced to work and toil in the sands, digging up old relics. The work was tiring, and was restrictive, it was harsh and dangerous, unhealthy. Eventually, Turok had enough, he inspired his brother and the other slaves to organise an uprising, one day, at night, the slaves overthrew their masters and with their tools, killed and took the weapons of their overseers. Zuka and the other slaves were content at leaving the Badlanders be, but Turok wanted more. Turok insisted on dominating and destroying every last one of the Badlanders until each of them were dead, Turok murdered and maimed each one as promised, which worried Zuka, but he felt that it was simply because Turok was angered at them.
They returned home to find that their father had been called to war by the Covenant Army against a large group of Heretics and other aliens, their mother embraced her sons and they spent all their free time together again, especially when their father returned, Turok and Zuka would not let their parents go.
Both parents died not long after their sons left home, both for High Charity, their funeral service was held on Sangheilios at the 'Mdama Keep.
Turok was inspired by combat, after the death of his parents, he entered his first matches as a gladiator. He thrived in the gladiator pits, seeing it as a way to escape the mental depression he went into as a result of his parent's dying. His performing name was "The Dominator of Karrovar", and the crowds who often watched his matches shortened his name to "The Dominator", and his name was often chanted althroughout his fights, at last, Turok felt he had a place in the world around him. He used his newfound fame and fortune to attack the Covenant's outdated caste system and improve the rights for other species in the hegemony, he did to a grand, but limited success. He also used his fame and fortune to renovate Mdama keep, which the Mdragath family owned, and returned to Sangheilios, he was worshipped by the state as "Mdama's own warrior". None the less, he managed to bloated Covenant government which kept workers oppressed, and before long he had carved out a loyal cadre of followers inspired by his rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Zuka's career took him into the Ministry of Kindly Subjection as a diplomat for the High Council members, he also worked as a lawyer, but this job was not recognised as noteworthy by Turok.
Turok became a follower of Sentinan 'Privardee, a Sangheili High Councillor who supported Turok's cause, and recognised him through not only his fame, but because Zuka had been a diplomat for Sentinan, and had shared many stories with him.
A few years later, in the earliest days of the Human/Covenant war, Turok and Zuka both were conscripted into army service. It was in the training room that Turok met the man who would later become his greatest enemy- Thora 'Marum, also a follower of 'Privardee. Turok and Thora both had their own set of friends, Turok befriended one- Rassaag 'Xytarg, who was very interested in science. Though their differences never developed into more than a friendly rivalry.
After finishing their training and receiving their new 'ee' suffixes, the group was contacted by Sentinan 'Privardee, who wanted to use the two months before the group would enter the war as a chance to help them, it was not uncommon for Sentinan to sponsor or teach new soldiers as an act of kindness.
The Hardan state on Sangheilios, who believed Sentinan to be a mad heretic, launched an attack on the a facility operated by his power base. Turok, Thora, Rassaag, N'tho 'Longanee and Elima 'Ona-one of few new female recruits, who was only going to become a mere support troop stationed away from action, fended off the Hardans when Sentinan and Whul 'Javumee successfully transported a Forerunner power generator to Sangheilios. The Hardans laid down their arms, but Turok resented that so many of his comrades had died before even entering the Human-Covenant War, and it was only by Thora's persuasion that 'Mdragathee found it within himself to forgive his enemies and shake the Hardan Iron 'Hardanee's hand.
That evening, Turok eavesdropped on a conversation between Sentinan and Thora. Sentinan claimed Thora could become a great leader someday, and intended to oversee him until he could one day become a councillor himself. Thora refused, unable to accept he could ever reach such heights and become somehow superior to his friends. The next day, Turok grumbled to Rassaag that if he were 'Marumee, he would have accepted Sentinan's offer. They came across a rogue group of Lekgolo worms formed into some sort of gesalt worm/driller attacking an Ungoyy field trip, and successfully shot the creature to pieces. Turok asked for the name of the Sangheili who volunteered to guard the Grunts: his name was Starnam 'Screm.
Finally, Turok, Thora, Rassaag, N'tho, Starnam and Elima were deployed on the battlefield against Humanity.
Turok was a natural, his career as a gladiator had given him the skills he needed to destroy his foes with ease. He watched his own major die at the hands of a Spartan, who took his energy sword. Turok rushed to attack this Spartan, and ended up in a bitter fight, which he eventually won, and destroyed the super soldier by manipulating the blade and taking it into his own hands, plunging it into the human's heart.
At the end of that battle, in the evening, he was called upon by the Ultra for a meeting, where the Ultra told him that killing the "demon" was a great success. The Ultra promoted Turok to Major already, and chose him to lead a lance for himself by the end of the week.
Donning his new armour, and an energy sword, Turok fought with his lance against Humanity during the Second Battle of Harvest. As the time passed, Turok rose the ranks, faster than his allies, as an Ultra, Turok got to command much larger-scale operations, but it was never enough for him.
Turok grew tired of fighting in the army, and asked to be transferred to the Navy, who refused. However, Sentinan 'Privardee found that he would have a good place in the navy, and used his authority to help Turok into the navy.
'Mdragathee was an excellent officer aboard his ship, and often coordinated gunners who, as a result of his planning, helped destroy many UNSC Vessels.
Not after long, he became a Zealot, and this was how power started to really go to his head. Turok joined the Ministry of Fervent Intercession and Minsitry of Tranquility, both dealing with the location and management of Forerunner artefacts. Turok served the ministries by heading the Covenant Reclamation Service, the service dedicated to finding these artefacts.
After Commander Starnam of the Covenant Air Force returned to Sangheilios from his patrol in the Ushuma Nebula, Thel 'Vislumee, leader of a reclamation service team, was reporting on his team's continuing excavation of the site near Sumani Temple and the unusual pulse waves that detectors had been emitting ever since work began. At the excavation site, while Thel's scientists were concerned with disturbing the ancient artefacts, all Turok cared about was whether these relics might provide the same revitalising energy as Forerunner generators. He was nettled when Thel asserted the sector's dominion over all scientific and archaeological discoveries and reminded his junior that it was him that protected his scientists, demanding to be informed of all possible threats from the excavation's findings. When Thel dared to remind Turok of the military's treatment of such discoveries as hostile, Turok told Thel that when he tried to be a true leader, he could make those decisions, not now. When a mysterious relic was discovered, Turok ordered it removed at once, a demand that Thel disagreed with. Just as the pair were about to launch into an argument, the site fell under attack from local heretics. Turok had the relic quickly moved to his quarters under the guise of protecting it from the invaders. Arriving to find Parg 'Vhand and Kas 'Kreel 'Hartamee seeking cover within the temple of Sumani, Turok chastised their alleged lack of courage before he was attacked by the Heretics using a Wraith Tank. After destroying it, he told Starnam to keep Thel's team out of his way and to follow his orders, and took a flight to High Charity with the relic, bringing it to his home in the city. Drawn towards the relic, he ignored his injuries and scraped away at the layers of debris encrusting it before losing consciousness.
The relic used what little power it had left to heal Turok's wounds. At first 'Mdragathee was angry, demanding the being to show himself. The relic explained that it was unable to do so without Turok's help, and if he helped, the relic would truly make him Leader of the Covenant, and one day...Emperor of the Galaxy. The relic then fired beams of energy into Turok's mind (turning his orange eyes red), explaining what needed to be done, filling him with delusions of grandeur. When Thel came looking for the Shipmaster, 'Mdragathee had changed; he had become even more aggressive in his speech and demeanor, and what's more, he demanded Thel gather his scientists to go to war. When 'Vislumee explained the service was not combat-trained, Turok shot back that the scientists should have known what the Heretics were after: the Forerunner power generators. Thel refused, stating that Turok's mission was defense, and it went against everything their society was based upon to exacerbate war. Turok slammed Thel into the wall and stated that their society then needed to change. He held a massive saber-rattling war rally in High Charity, demanding vengeance upon Humanity and the Heretic aggressors. For his bravery, Turok was promoted to Supreme Commander of his own fleet.
Turok ordered all in his new fleet to accompany him to the Ushuma Nebula, where they launched a surprise attack against the Heretics, who Turok believed that the UNSC was helping. 'Mdragath, using his Banshee, fought his way inside the Heretic flagship and personally executed their leader. He then invited Starnam to become the commander of all Air Force operations as a part of his invasions.
Turok returned from the front with news of their success and awaited further instructions from his master. The relic ordered him to prepare the way for his return by persuading the expanding the Covenant army, and at the end, the military would be 'Mdragathee's. Turok was enraged when the relic informed him that Thel had snooped inside his quarters while he was fighting the Heretics, and convinced the Supreme Commander that he was an agent of his old friend Thora 'Marumee, now a shipmaster, after the same power the relic had promised him. Now seeing that there were "enemies" within the Ministry of Fervent Intercession as well as without, Turok arranged to have the "traitors" taken care of by ordering Prow 'Sertumee's security team to arrest Thel, and sent soldiers to kill all bar Thel. However, Turok underestimated Thel, who personally defeated the death squad. Nonetheless, he used the survivors as propaganda that treacherous malcontents sought to betray them all, and declared 'Vislumee a heretic. Turok however, had limited government approval.
Turok's fleet was deployed to invade the Human world of Kolto in 2537, partially because the government wanted to keep him away from business with the Ministry. Within mere months, Kolto was little more than Glass, but High Command wanted to keep Turok away for longer. He was only allowed return to High Charity for two weeks, before he was called to defend the Covenant world of Eliksnia. Turok not only defended the planet, but the relic convinced him to follow the UNSC fleet that fled from the invasion all the way to the planet they originated from, Alluvion. His fleet however, required help, as they were thrown into yet another invasion. Thora 'Marumee, now a Supreme Commander, cooperated using his fleet in the invasion. Again, another successful glassing.
Whilst 'Marumee was called to invade other worlds, Turok was summoned by Sentinan 'Privardee. Sentinan told Turok that he had underestimated him, and that 'Mdragathee was a competent leader and a great warrior. Sentinan however, revealed to Turok that he was going to organise a mass rebellion against the Covenant, and that he would collaborate with Humanity on the issue, telling Turok that everything the Prophets had said was a lie, that the Great Journey was a lie. Turok was informed that he did not have to join him in the rebellion.
Turok had a choice to make, which he consulted with the relic. The relic told him that Sentinan and his followers must be weeded out. Turok obliged, and as a new Heretic war dawned, 'Mdragathee informed the High Council that the leader of the Heretics was Sentinan. 'Privardee, having been told about, went into hiding in High Charity, and in many cities, his followers and the Covenant Army battled. It was only a matter of time before Sentinan was found, and Turok offered to destroy him with his followers.
It is unknown what exactly took place during the confrontation, but it is known that Sentinan escaped and gathered his most elite and great allies, and used a starship to escape from High Charity, however, on the 4th of November 2539, Sentinan's ship took off, the plan was to escape from the Covenant's grasp and unite with a UNSC Fleet who would then take them in.
However, using information gathered by Starnam and High Charity Police Chief Barric 'Kaidom's scouts, High Command learned that the ship was taking off from the Oracle's Launch Site, and by that afternoon, it launched. The launch was monitored by the Air Force, who scrambled seven Banshee Fighters to intercept it. However, the ship was accompanied by Heretic Vampires, who escorted the ship through its journey, the ship itself had weapons strong enough to destroy the artillery after it. The vampires however, were shot down by the artillery, and the ship was now unguarded. The Banshee Wing Leader fired a missile at the ship, which opened several panels to reveal smaller missiles, each of which along with the bigger missile chased the transport until they hit it, and destroyed the ship, which was carrying Sentinan's creation that would have won the Heretics the war, a smart A.I which was more powerful than anything ever built. However, it was destroyed and lost with the ship. Thora 'Marumee watched the transport as it escaped and was destroyed.
Before being destroyed, the ship opened a slipspace portal, which the missiles knocked the ship into, the portal closed before it could be entered. It is unknown where the ship went.
That evening, Covenant High Command granted Turok a whole year's leave. Turok returned to his home, where the relic told him to use this as an opportunity to gain power. The relic told him to visit the Dromund Empire, and Turok used his chance to travel to Dorkmund Ravaas.
As the Covenant had no knowledge of the Dromund Empire and would probably consider it, along with the UEC, as enemies, the relic's plan was foolproof. Turok arrived on Dorkmund Ravaas with a mission. In his apartment, the relic then finally told him the story of his mighty being, and how the Progenitor- a Precursor artefact, granted them great power and created the Precursors, the Forerunners and every species in the galaxy, and told him the story of the Precursor Empire, the 1st Dark Wars, the Forerunners and 2nd Dark Wars, but it needed to be recharged by draining the power of a sun using specially-constructed harvesting devices, named "Devourers". The relic also told him about the Dromunds, and that he had agents in place to guide his ascension.
Turok was told to meet with a Communication Officer- Sork 'Wavem, in Ravaas City. Upon meeting with 'Wavem outside the Dromund Broadcasting Company Headquarters, Turok was told by the officer that he was destined to become Emperor of the Dromund Empire and help engineer the destruction of the Covenant, and thus take over the Covenant too as part of the empire. Turok was worried by this, he wondered what he had driven himself into, Turok new he was a loyal member of the Covenant, and told Sork he would meet him later that day.
When he returned home, he was punched by the relic. The relic told him that the only way he would achieve his ultimate goal was cast aside the ideals of the Covenant. A reminded Turok bowed to his master and agreed to serve him without question again.
'Mdragath, as part of his campaign to rise to the top of the Dromund Empire, used his new contact in Sork to round up the workers of Dorkmund Ravaas, and campaign for fairer rights, just as he did in the Covenant, but to really gain power, he had to become a Dark Alchemist, and took apprenticeship under Lord Fotas 'Dragom. Within weeks, Turok needed him no longer, and moved on, he became a lord himself.
The new Lord Turok 'Mdragathee was able to use Dark Sapphire, the source of power for Dark Alchemists. A Dark Alchemist is not all powerful, one is limited in power, and going above the limit one can actually go above is impossible without the ability to manage it. Nonetheless, Turok desired more. The relic advised Turok on how to manage his power, and how to sustain it, he must have a good, managed supply of Dark Sapphire.
Turok, now with his new title, new power, used it to gain the support of the people, and joined the Ministry of Defence, becoming a high ranking military commander and soon even the Minister, through political manipulations with the help of one of Sork's associates in the Dromund Parliament- Rat Bhart, a former Covenant-allied Kig-Yar. Turok used his newfound power to end up as next in line for the Dromund Imperial Throne, as legally, he could, he formed his power base quickly, revisiting his friends in the Covenant- Starnam and Rassaag in particular, who he introduced to the relic. Making friends in the Imperial Conservative Party, Turok declared that all who followed him should take upon the identity of 'Desticrons'- Named after the supposed views of the relic, and as public support rose dramatically, Lord 'Mdragath became the Emperor, within his year's leave from the Covenant.
Returning to the Covenant after his long 'holiday', Turok found out that the current Covenant Imperial Admiral and former Supreme Commander Voro 'Quantumee had passed away, Turok saw a new opportunity, and his master confirmed that the should pursue the role. 'Mdragathee appealed to High Command for the role, and became one of three candidates to be chosen, one of which was the rising star- Thora 'Marumee.
High Command had found it such a difficult decision that the High Council grew tired of the military's indecisiveness. The three candidates would present their reasons for being the new Imperial Admiral to the council.
'Marumee was not personally interested in the title, as he felt he was not ready, but he did see that it could be an opportunity to improve the conditions for the military. Turok however, craved it more than anything in the galaxy at that moment.
The third candidate was Serket 'Lapumee, who was known for his legendary command on the battlefield, not unlike Turok and Thora.
Whilst Turok presented a manifesto of harsh leadership, Thora presented one of fair but firm, something the Council seemed to prefer, as Serket seemed like a middle ground, which the council wanted. Upon learning that Serket was the most likely to get the role, Turok left the conference at the end with an angered gnash of his teeth, the red in his eyes from the relic returning temporarily.
The council however, made the decision to drop 'Marumee from the line up, as his methods were deemed unfit for the role, and that he should be kept as a military leader without too much political input.
In the final conference, Serket however, seemed weak and nervous in his decision making, something which was an increasing problem.
In the end, 'Mdragathee won the role, at last, he was the Imperial Admiral on the 7th of February 2541.
At last in the leadership role he had been promised, Imperial Admiral Turok Nar 'Mdragathee thanked the relic, and was told to draw the war closer to the home shores of the UEC, the relic knew the location of Earth, a fact the Covenant did not.
The relic would reveal the location later, as the new Imperial Admiral was pressured by him to employ more spies in the Covenant Intelligence service, which had become less and less effective as of recent. Turok seemed to display the image of someone who wanted to break into the heart of Humanity. He was revered for this, and at the end of the year, the Covenant finally recruited a human spy successfully, many attempts had been made, but were often shut down. The human ONI spy came bearing the exact coordinates of the Solar System, but the information was not used yet, as the strike had to come at the right time.
Turok was reminded and warned by the relic that the Covenant must never be allowed to activate the Halo rings, as all the Galaxy would be destroyed if they were.
'Mdragathee was responsible for locating numerous planets of interest to the UEC, and sending invasion forces there in the hottest years of the war.
Turok's Spies had been so adept that soon, discovering world locations was not even a challenge anymore, no surprise. Turok developed friends in high places on the council, and was involved prominently in the three ruling Prophets.
The relic had predicted the end of the war in 2552, the ideal time. When Thora 'Marumee was sent to invade one of the most important worlds to humanity- Garos, for all it contributed to the UEC, the relic knew it had made the correct choice in apprentice. Garos was glass within months.
'Marumee's next invasion would be of a Forerunner Shield World, which Covenant High Command desired, and failure was not an option. After the biggest and most influential battle on a non Human or Covenant world ensued, Thora had failed, and the shield world was destroyed, and the Prophets believed it would lead them to all of the halo rings.
When Thora returned, he was brought before the council on trial for his failure, as Thora tried to inform the council that it was not so simple to accomplish such a task, he tried to reason with the council to take away his status. The council responded harshly, and ordered Barcus- The Chieftain of the Jiralhanae to brand him with the mark of shame and be made an example of.
Thora was sent to a prison to be executed, but he was released, as Turok had negotiated with the council to keep him alive and keep his rank. 'Marumee was brought to Turok's quarters, after Thora mistakenly asked if he was to become an Arbiter, Turok told him that the council had no intention on bestowing such a mantle on anyone at the moment. The Imperial Admiral informed the disgraced Supreme Commander that he had negotiated with the council to allow him one more chance to prove himself. When Thora asked how, Turok told Thora that it was because he had discovered a Forerunner terminal on the planet with the location of one Halo Ring specified.
Thora was told that he should prepare to get to the ring quickly before the UNSC could arrive, as Turok's spies told him that they too had the location. 'Marumee however, would not operate alone. Being the Imperial Admiral, Turok was able to usurp direct command over any fleet in the Covenant Navy, so the council decided that Thora's Fleet of Undeniable Carnage would have to go alongside Turok's Fleet of Glorious Victory as part of the Covenant's Two Fleet Standard- a policy that two Fleets would engage in the campaign of a Halo ring. All major decisions made by Thora would have to be authorised by Turok, and any shipmaster in 'Marumee's fleet would ultimately be subordinate to their equal in Turok's.
Most in Thora's fleet were followers of 'Marumee, and most in Turok's were often his own followers, so opinions on the whole matter differed across the fleets.
Upon preparation for the event, 'Marumee was kicked and beaten around by Barcus more, the Jiralhanae telling him that failure once means retribution, failure twice means death, which was later a phrase coined by Turok.
The fleets were then joined in orbit above High Charity and embarked on the quest to get to the Halo ring. The Covenant had reached the Ring before the UNSC. For this reason, they had more time to set up initial operations on the ring. Turok visited the troops of the initial force on the second day, and gave a rallying speech, he performed this twice- with soldiers dispatched from his fleet and soldiers from 'Marumee's, naturally, he did not recieve the same welcome from Thora's.
The Imperial Admiral returned to his Flagship- Triumphant Harbinger, where he to discovered in the hangar before he had even the chance to get to the bridge that his decoders had intercepted messages from a nearby UNSC Fleet, which was arriving to the ring, within seconds it arrived. Turok ordered the whole fleet to go on the defence, theorising that the UNSC would take their troops to the ring, and would allow for him to focus his air force on destroying the enemy from above. He ordered 'Marumee's air force units to defend however, as Turok naturally had more skilled pilots.
The control room's location was a mystery, and so, the race to find it began, as the UNSC favoured finding and destroying the room, the Covenant wanted to use it for the Great Journey into the Divine Beyond.
Thora took it upon himself to find out as much as possible, ordering his best to try and take down the Forerunner Contructs defending the ring, and use them against the Humans. On the ring, 'Marumee spent much of his time, whereas Turok commanded from the fleet. 'Marumee recognised the Human Fleet as the same one that he faced at the shield world and some of their ships, namely the Capital UNSC Hallelujah, as some of his foes on Garos.
Turok tried sending his human double agent- Spartan III and ONI agent Silas-670 to gather information on troop movements and Fleet plots, allowing the Admiral to destroy ships as they left combat to repair, and for 'Marumee's forces to locate and destroy Human outposts.
'Marumee had lead his troops to a Forerunner Anti-Air battery on the ring to commandeer it, and stationed General Parg 'Vhandee there to keep it defended and firing on UNSC Jets, Fighters, Transports and Planes. Team Matrix- a squad of Spartan III Commandos under the command of Spartan 603 Luke, this team had foiled 'Marumee on the shield world. Matrix had found the cannon, and decided to take it down. In the attack, one of the team members- Bobby, conversated with Parg on the Great Journey and its validity, the General said he would lay down his life for the journey, but in reality, he came to some sort of realisation. Parg fled after being overpowered, reporting his failure to Thora, who told him that if it were Turok in command, he would have been executed.
The Prophet of Burden ordered Barcus and Thora to both venture to the Icon's fortress on the ring, little did he know the Prophet of Reliance was going to give Barcus the go-ahead to assassinate Thora once he got the Icon and then order his Jiralhanae Kill Teams to hunt down and kill the Sangheili Councillors. At the end of this mission, 'Marumee successfully retrieved the Icon and Barcus did as he was ordered by Reliance.
Burden did not realise this at first, and when Thora had disappeared with only Barcus returning, Barcus lamented that his 'comrade' 'Marumee had perished in battle. Turok refused to believe this, knowing that Thora had faced far tougher oppositions that Sentinels and a Flood Outbreak alone. In a heated argument, he was skeptical of Barcus and scowled at the Chieftain, believing him to be a liar. Barcus was called back to High Charity, Turok believing that this was in fact part of Barcus's plan, whatever it was, and he placed a recording device on the Chieftain as he left.
Thora had in fact ended up in a conversation with the Flood Gravemind, which informed him that he was wrong about the Great Journey, and that his beliefs were founded on lies. 'Marumee refused to believe this, but the Gravemind released him, believing that Thora would find the strength within himself to see the truth. That night, Thora met with Team Matrix and two members of Spartan Team Salvation- Peter and Spectra. 'Marumee was held at gunpoint, and subsequently, he was captured, however, he had no cell bars or chains. The teams were lost and without communication, and Thora could not establish connection. The teams tried to convince him that the Prophets were liars whilst 'Marumee fired back at them, they had to set up camp for the night, 'Marumee was kept under the watchful eye of Spectra. Thora was, in the morning, brought to a Forerunner Terminal by the team, which was a recording of a Forerunner whom was part of ring construction. The Forerunner lamented that Halo was not finished, and would destroy the galaxy, upon finishing the recording, 'Marumee disagreed, though he was in fact becoming convinced himself, whilst a Forerunner Monitor the team had met- 367 Semper Tyrannis, who told him all, and Thora finally believed.
Thora saw something in his newfound human allies, Spectra in particular, but truly felt that his life had been revolutionised for the better by them all. The team learned that returning to any UNSC Outposts would be near-impossible, and Thora agreed to take them to his. Silas-670 had been watching them, and reported Thora's betrayal to Turok.
'Marumee finally established radio connection with his outpost, who reported suffering threats from Turok's fleet. One of Turok's Invasion force Generals, the Hardan Iron 'Hardanee, had successfully joined them and defected. They returned to them, where 'Marumee held a rally telling them that the Great Journey was a lie and that Humans were not evil. The message was broadcast to most of the fleet, and Turok sent a kill force to wipe out the outpost, commanded by an Ultra- Blurak 'Outumee, after fending off the atatck, Blurak was captured.
This lead to a fleet battle between 'Marumee's and 'Mdragathee's to begin, in the process, a quick ceasefire was called between Thora's and the UNSC to stop loss of potential allies.
Thora's forces having eluded him for now, Turok was given new orders by his master: build a mighty starship that would scour the stars for something very important to the relic's plans. The relic counseled 'Mdragathee to not make the same mistakes he did thousands of years ago, that his protege should strike without mercy or hesitation.
Construction began in High Charity, and the starship would be named The Scourge.
After a truce on the ring, the UNSC/Separatist alliance swept through Turok's growing influence on the ring, and within days, the march to the control room began, after it was found.
The Control Room finally located, Turok and Burden arrived, Turok ordered the Honour Guards to defend with all their vigour and passion, and brought two Scarabs to help defend the Control Room, Turok however, planned to let 'Marumee and the UNSC pass and destroy his defenses. Burden, feeling trapped and regretful that he had come at this time, panicked and demanded that Turok defend him personally. Turok obliged, but when confronted by Thora, he feigned weakness and let himself be beaten by Thora. Turok fled as Burden could only watch, demanding that he return at once, only to see Turok blast an exit for himself out. Burden watched as the Icon was taken out of the controls by Spartan-605 Peter Venture 'The Gambler', who he had used to activate the ring. Thora then approached Burden, disdainful of the years he spent being forced by Burden to destroy without remorse, held the Prophet by his neck. Burden tried to reason with 'Marumee, but the Supreme Commander only declared to Burden that he had lost his way and had forced others to pay for his mistakes and crimes. Burden told Thora he was right to question the morality of glassing human worlds, but he was a fool to let humanity trick him into denying the Great Journey. Thora tightened his grip around Burden's neck, showing him that he was not afraid of the Prophet any longer. Burden declared in his last words "There is no stopping once we embark on the path to the Great Journey." 'Marumee tightened his grip on Burden's neck even harder, pressed his deactivated energy sword against his back, and told him "Then I will destroy that path." and activated the sword, ripping through Burden's vital organs. The last thoughts Burden had before his death were of he, his wife and his daughter all walking along the path into the Divine Beyond.
Turok had wanted to take full control of the ring and never allow it to fire. However, when it was destoryed, he returned to High Charity before the Great Schism initiated there, with the High Prophet of Reliance ordering the Brutes through Barcus to kill off the Elites. Turok gathered his followers in a final rally cry, told them of the relic and the Dromund Empire, and united them under the name of 'Desticrons' as he did in the Dromund Empire.
When Turok presumed to believe he would accompany his master, he was rebuked and punished. Soon, the Scourge was finally completed, and Turok assigned Sork to command the ship. The relic, revealing himself to be named "The Ruinous" and finally showing his appearance, praised Turok for his fine work, and ordered him to stay behind to continue the ensuing war.
During the Great Schism on High Charity, 'Mdragath found reference to an energy source called Nebulous Sapphire, related to Dark Alchemist Dark Sapphire, which had impressive potential as a weapon, and became determined to claim it for himself. One of the few places it was made was in a station in orbit around High Charity, guarded by a Covenant-Loyalist led by Starnam 'Screm. With this knowledge, he took a ship and launched an assault on the station.
The ship was badly damaged in the attack, and so he ordered Barric 'Kaidom and Brawnus, piloting it, to ram the station. He and many of his soldiers survived the impact and escaped the core's detonation. They were then confronted by Starnam, who informed them that they would not allow them to take what he had guarded for twenty odd years. After surviving a trap of sentry guns, Turok, Barric, and Brawnus were reinforced by more of 'Mdragath's troops, and set out on their way to find the station's Nebulous Sapphire stores and claim them for the war effort. They encountered significant resistance, but managed to shoot their way through, with directional aid from Sork 'Wavem. Barric noted that the station itself seemed quite primitive; Turok noted it was very old, and that he intended to modernise it. At one point, the Ranger Jet 'Fitelee confronted Turok nonviolently, asking him to give up his quest, as Nebulous Sapphire would result in only horror, death, and destruction, to which 'Mdragath sneered, "You say that as if it were a bad thing."
Along their way to the Sapphire, they found that a large portion of the station had been blasted clean off, the debris field traversable but sparse enough to allow easy viewing of High Charity itself. Sork soon found records indicating that a small amount of Sapphire lost containment and was the sole cause of the destruction, underscoring Turok's desire for it. When Barric asked how he expected to control it when no other had, Turok said that such power was only for the strong, that he was the strongest, and not to question him again.
When they finally reached the storage chamber, and Turok averted Starnam's destruction of it, he calmly entered into a container full of raw Nebulous Sapphire, while Starnam watched and gloated at his imminent destruction...only for him to walk out, not only unscathed, but crackling with power, which he further bestowed upon Barric and Brawnus. A single blast of it was enough to destroy an entire lance of station security forces, the last line of defense between Turok and Starnam and his companions.
Jet again tried to warn Turok about the dangers of the substance, but Starnam interrupted, asking to join the Desticron leader. 'Mdragath asked what Starnam could offer that he could not simply take. Starnam revealed the station's supply of Nebulous Sapphire was almost spent, and he knew how to manufacture more—and as luck would have it, there was a dormant Geosynchronous Slipspace Bridge which could be used to power it. Jet retreated to inform Zeor 'Preturdee; 'Mdragath let him go, seeming pleased by the notion of letting the UNSC/Covenant Separatists, Czervo Revolutionaries, Jiralhanae Covenant and other groups tremble in advance of their actions, and sent Starnam, Thul 'Crackemee, and Skev 'Wapumai to activate the bridge.
'Mdragath repeatedly mocked what he perceived as Starnam's slowness in his simple mission, but the Seeker did what he said he could. With a steady supply of Sapphire, Turok launched an attack on the Golden City, intending to take a device called the Orion Key and use it to enter the Core of High Charity. This time, he took Brace Dowman and Sork 'Wavem with him. The trio took the less-guarded way in—which, since the UNSC/Separatists were not complete fools (as even 'Mdragath would admit), still had significant military presence. During the attack, Starnam noted that Nebulous Sapphire was proving every bit as potent as Turok had promised. Brace let Turok know of his misgivings about the Sky Commander; Turok admitted he was treacherous and untrustworthy, but he had useful talents, and his cunning and ambition was intriguing.
The Orion Key had been taken from its normal resting place, however, by Councillor Zeor 'Preturdee, and so Turok took his squad on an assault on Zeor's headquarters. They met Brawnus, leading an attack on the doors to Zeor's armoury, along the way. Even Turok's touch of Sapphire could not breach the vault doors, however, and so he called in Nebulous Sapphire Bombers. When they were shot down, Brawnus suggested they take out the Sepratist's air defense guns, after which bombers were called in again; Turok's troops then held off a massive assault from what seemed like the entire UNSC army while waiting for the bombing run to finally arrive.
After the vault doors were breached, they reached Zeor himself, who had constructed several layers of security while he waited. An invincible energy field protected him, while he could drop portions of the ceiling with pistons to crush anything beneath them, deploy Covenant Honour Guards still loyal to him, and construct endless holo drones of himself outfitted for melee combat, which 'Mdragath personally found nauseating. However, his defenses were not without flaw: periodically, the power core would need to disperse waste heat, and Turok's team survived long enough to destroy it during this stage. Zeor fell, buried under the wreckage of his own defenses, and 'Mdragath took the device he'd carried...which started to make electronic chirping noises. Zeor, with dark humour, noted that the device was not the Orion Key. It merely activated the Key, which would come to them...
Searching for the Key in the skies aboard another ship, Turok, with Sork and Brace at the controls, were abruptly confronted by a massive Forerunner Automated War Sphinx- Orion Supreme, who knocked them out of the sky, causing them to crash back. There, they played a cat-and-mouse campaign in a desperate attempt to survive the enormous Armiger's vast firepower, though Sork noted that the weaponry they bore had little chance of penetrating Orion Supreme's armor. Turok, for his part, at least contrived to appear unafraid, claiming that if it came to a real fight, the brute wouldn't stand a chance against Turok's intellect. However, Orion's attacks drove them underground and left them unable to immediately transmit counter to Starnam, who declared Turok dead and announced he was taking control. Even when they re-established contact, Starnam's aerial forces only briefly distracted Orion, who dispensed large numbers of troops, sucked up Desticrons with a tractor beam, fired weapons of mass destruction, and mined the roads 'Mdragath and his squad were using.
Sork, however, had come up with a suggestion—there were weapons emplacements higher up that had the ability to damage Orion Supreme. Taking them from the UNSC was a battle in and of itself, but nothing compared to the fight against Orion Supreme, who could unload entire squadrons of Sentinels. Nonetheless, Turok's boldness and tactical acumen finally shot Orion Supreme out of the sky.Gloating, Turok found that the behemoth was still not defeated, and indeed was drawing power from High Charity itself to repair his systems, making him stronger, if anything. However, by corrupting the batteries with which he was using to feed himself with Nebulous Sapphire charges, they were able to weaken him to the point where they could finally blast away his last defenses and brought him to heel. With Orion Supreme defeated, Turok went underground, directly to the Core, fought through waves and waves of the Flood attempting to breach the core, and corrupted it with a massive infusion of Nebulous Sapphire, finally bringing High Charity itself more completely under his control.
At this point, he was clearly convinced, and for good reason, that he'd won, making propaganda broadcasts extolling his greatness and how he had taken away the UNSC/Sepratist' burdens of "liberty" and "choice". When Starnam was defeated and the Decagon retaken, however, he realised the enemy were not yet going to roll over for him, and sent a distress signal from Zeor, whom he had kept alive in the Karrovar prison camp, in order to provoke a rescue attempt. His old acquaintance Thora took the bait, and Turok confronted him, telling him that the war could be over tomorrow if Thora took the UNSC/Sepratists and left. 'Marumee refused, so 'Mdragath consigned him and his team to the prisons. When they managed to stage a mass breakout, an enraged Turok ordered his troops to prevent their escape at any cost, to the point of tearing apart portions of Karrovar.
This was not enough, however, and they escaped, journeying to the Core, where they kickstarted the cleansing of Turok's corruption. Doing so, however, would take the Core hundreds of years of shutdown, rendering High Charity uninhabitable. Whether Turok knew this or not, when he saw the UNSC/Allied Sangheili leaving after Thora's refusal of his earlier offer, he apparently took offence. His earlier plans of renovating Starnam's station had come to fruition; now, it mounted a powerful superweapon, capable of destroying entire structures in one shot. He had it fire upon the Allied Sangheili/UNSC transports as they left. When a team of Rangers attempted to disable or destroy it, he called Jet 'Fitel, now one of them, and taunted him about his past. He further mocked them when they destroyed the plasma coolant system without apparently having accounted for backups. Finally, during the attack he came into possession of information on Thora 'Marumee's location, and ordered Incorruptible Triptych— the name of the weapon, for it was actually an Archeon Class Forerunner Ancilla—to fire upon it.
Triptych, however, was forced into a form constructed of a Forerunner Dragonmech which was stored in the station, and defeated after he crash-landed on High Charity. 'Mdragath's reaction to this went unrecorded.
In the end, he and his followers returned to Dorkmund Ravaas, Turok's power, now reactivated with his empire, reclaiming his weapon and the power he was destined, finally, Turok was in charge, the Desticrons served him! Now the war with the newfound Allied Sangheili Houses and UEC, united by the military alliance of Trident of Revelation under Thora 'Marumee and the political leaders, would begin. Turok removed his 'ee' suffix, he was now finally- Emperor Turok Nar 'Mdragath.
Days before the Battle of Xavok, Turok and Zuka were exploring a tomb on the ancient world, the tomb of Scourge-of-Gladiators, the first Dark Alchemist Emperor. Though his body had been lost to the stars a long time ago, Turok knew of the artefacts and power that teemed inside of the tomb, when Zuka made a speech to Turok about the discovery, he mentioned they would share whatever they had, Turok disagreed, saying his will was final, and impaled his brother through the chest, letting him fall to his death in Scourge's 'bottomless' pit.
All he wants is everything.
