Personality: As if the state weren't corrupt enough...

Aggressive, violent, unpleasant, and probably thoroughly corrupt, Vessun 'Tehros is a complicated Sangheili. He's considered "fractious" even by Banicron standards- for starters, he doesn't necessarily like Humans, which isn't great when he fights for a revolutionary movement campaigning for equality between all species. For Vessun, the scars of the Human-Covenant War are still there, yet he is willing to give the humans he once fought against the benefit of the doubt and follow where the revolution leads, at least for the time being. Vessun 'Tehros is a police officer, and has a certain sense of honour and pride in his role as a peacekeeper... though he interprets that job description rather loosely.

While he may seem like a more reserved fellow towards his peers, in the field, they will realise the absolute ball of seething anger that 'Tehros really is- a violent bad cop with a rage that cannot be measured, and a whole load of shouting, smashing, cutting, shooting and beating. When someone mentions 'police brutality', they could also mention "Vessun 'Tehros" and people would immediately have the same image in their heads. Vessun takes his job to the extreme, so much so as that he views blasts to the limbs of suspects as little more than 'warning shots', and outright killing suspects (intentionally or otherwise) as collateral damage.

He rarely lets an opportunity to taunt, criticise or demoralise someone go by. And no, not even his peers are safe. One would think this would mean a short end to his career, but apparently not. The Banicron Leader Turok Nar 'Mdragath has taken to tolerating this, perhaps due to his sheer effectiveness and tenacity in his job as an enforcer of Banicron law, but possibly also because his scolding of the other officers sometimes works in Turok's favour.

Though not totally dedicated to the service of the Banicrons' Second in Command Stato 'Sarik, he is much more cautious and reserved about expressing mutinous dissent than most. He believes that Stato is vital in the Banicron's resurgence after their crushing defeat after the Battle of the Ark. In many ways this makes Vessun Stato's closest ally in the naturally combative Banicron ranks...then again, it's been said that 'Tehros likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was. As such, he disguises himself as local law enforcement on the many worlds he operates on to gain the trust of the...locals.

If his attitude toward his fellow Banicrons is inconsistent, his attitude toward his enemies is not: kill them all. 'Tehros might not be as imposing as some of his peers, but he is every bit as deadly. He thoroughly relishes every chance in fighting his foes. He's smart enough to let one live if he thinks he or the Banicrons can use it to their advantage, but most of the time, they're dead before someone's even thought of a plan.

'Tehros' favourite tactic is taunting and torturing opponents until they start running away, and then leading them through hazardous areas that they don't have a chance of surviving, while he will escape without a scratch. As a hunter, he keeps his opponents off-guard and nervous by talking a lot, citing them with whatever crimes he thinks they've committed against the Banicron Revolution. Backed by his giggling cyborg Yanme'e partner Riznikity, the pair excel in lethal obnoxiousness.

(Overran by literally just a few letters with this one, anyway here's Vessun 'Tehros' backstory, hope you all enjoy it: docs.google.com/document/d/1rG… )

Quotes:

"To violate and oppress..."- His take on the Police Motto- "To protect and serve..."

Recruit: "What makes you think Turok is such a better ruler than Stato?" Vessun: "Because you know where you stand with Turok. Stato is the type who would kill you in your sleep! Turok would have the balls to do it to your face."

"You have the right to remain screaming for mercy."

"I do what I do in the name of equality. That's always been the Banicron cause."

Vel 'Sertumee: "I don't believe it, you betrayed your fellow Wardens for this?" Vessun: "Why not? Way things are going, Wardens don't have what it takes to handle anything. Besides, the Banicrons have always had my vote."

"Cruel? Justice is always cruel."

"You want to know? You want a name human? The name's Vessun 'Tehros, learn it, because it's the last name you're going to hear!"- To Spectra

"On the ground, dirtbag."

"Foul Tridents, here we come. Let our long war resume—and let it end here."

"Move along people, nothing to see here."
