Description
Hello all! Sorry it's taken me SO long to do anything. I've been kinda sad I haven't done anything in awhile so I decided/made myself draw this picture. I put in an extra few hours and did the background for you guys!I liked how this one turned out. . .I've never tried to do a sunset before. Hey I just realized that this is my first DA submitted work that has a background! O_o
Colored with colored pencils and sharpie mixed with a brush pen.
Comments and critiques are always welcome!
Enjoy!

I actually really liked crayola but that's because a)they were cheaper, b)I liked the consistency of the lead. Prismacolor was easier to blend though.

Thanks! I got a few prismacolours because they were the only ones selling individually (which was very nice).

You bet! If you can find two brands that work well, then try using them together, cause they usually have similar colors (but not quite the same) so you have a lot more options for blending shades.

Yeah I was lucky because to start out, my mom gave me a set of like 25 Staedler colored pencils and I already had a 35+ pack of Crayola.

Nice! I want to get some more but my mom stopped me...she said I wouldn't be able to bring them out to university. So I'll bring what I have and buy some more there, hopefully. Btw, I've uploaded a couple more landscape pics for you.

thanks!
OOh I'd love to see them if you upload them!!
I'd suggest(if you're using colored pencils) to use a variety of colors. Do a light"base" color and then overlay that color with other colors. Don't be afraid to go over the same bit several times to get just the right color. Also, make sure you do a good job of shading. It'll really bring out the 3-dness of the picture.

I see some of the line is too bold. You made nice shade and highlight, maybe you should add some orange highlight on her to give more sunset impression.

That is very well done, I like it alot ^^. It's so bright. The colours you've used are amazing, and you've used them so well, and they match so well your bold style. I definately think you should make a habit of backgrounds, this piece is so much better for it.
Only thing I can pick out about it is that she seems to be either floating or standing on the wall. Perhaps lust a little distintion in where the floor end and the wall begins, or a bit of shadowing in the bottom of her dress to just define the fact that shes standing on the floor.
No biggy though, I wouldn't try altering this one, just remember for next time. Doesn't stop the love ^^ <3
