Description [Slowly Dying]
Space is being torn apart. Who thought it would be possible? But after all, we never fully learned all the aspects of space and all its glory until it was too late. While we were stuck in naive theories about God creating everything with us as his ideal creation, space lived its own life, without our theories. Nature has its own laws, built on contrasts. Life stands as a contrast to death as day is to night. The death of it all is the ultimate contrast to the birth of it all. Everything that has a beginning has an end; a star that is born will die at last. It was all built for dying.
There was never a heaven after life; we had to create our own heaven on earth. Not of oppressing authoritarian states, but of the chance for everyone to control their own lives - the power of the people.

This piece was made in Photoshop 7 in maybe 8 hours. The "nebula", which really isn't a nebula but a piece of space being torn apart or imploding, took some hours. But the planet was also something that took time, which the .psd file used as texture resembles with its 102 megabytes. In total the .psd files use 421 megabytes of my hard-drive, so please take some time and look at the full view version.

And for the guy in green pants who doubted it, yes the spaceships were drawn in Photoshop.
Please tell me what you think of the picture - what you like, or might dislike.

Man this is insanity. I can really feel that that massive.... entity is killing things. Its shape and structure was just so well done. I love the idea,

the planet and starfield althought sligtly flat, are simply amazingly done, altho, imo, I think that the space rip (heh) could be more detailed, or mabye im just not feeling that part

Thanks
In my eyes the planet doesn't look flat. But there is something disturbing about the left and right edges of it, especially the left one... as if it is not completely rounded...but it is...
But thanks again, also for taking time to criticise (that counts for a couple of other criticisers too). I mean, it's great when people comment when they like my stuff, but criticism is also important for further developement...

What's so amazing about the "rip" in space is the sharpness and gloopyness of the bright light - it's really great. A real focal point in the piece. The planet is superb If there is any crit though - it wold be that the starfield ain't all that deep.

I kinda agree, it's just that I get so enthusiastic about the other stuff that I do not have as much interest in the space stuffey anymore... If you see what I mean. But I'll just have to force myself into working more with the space background, I agree that it could survive some few more minutes of work...
And thanks for the kind words
