Description
The famous Wanaka tree was very close to where we were staying during out 2017 visit to South IslandI shot this on our last morning in the area with the ever present group of photographers standing side by side these days.
For me , that didn't diminish the scene, I just found ways to talk to people to enjoy company instead of just nature alone

wow! this is one of the most beautiful photographs I've ever seen.
I'm wondering is there a bird sitting in the tree?

Is the tree flooded or does it always look like that?

actually it's not always flooded, I've visited a few times when I've been able to walk right out - this was shot at the end of winter so the snowmelt definitely helped it along

I love this shot. Long exposure on water always looks so peaceful.Β
And the lighting on the mountains and trees is pretty much just right.
Did you get lucky on lighting or did you wait around for it?Β
