Description Svartifoss, Iceland.

This waterfall lies in Skaftafell National Park in Southern Iceland. It is accessable via a short 1km walk from a car park. The trail is well worn and may need some preservation in the future. Along the way there are two other smaller falls and continuing on, one can hike on to magnificent glacier views.

The rocks are basalt rock formations from volcanic origins - I was suprised to find similar ones in Tasmania!
