Description
So, yesterday ME2 and I started a ME3 play through directly after ME2 was finished.I played the Omega DLC... what can I say?
I really love Mass Effect, the whole trilogy. Only some lil' bad facts can't make me hate the game
But to work with this lil' bad facts, I make my comics
This one is about this weird DLC
The DLC was great to play: Wonderful maps, great upgrades, the wonderful Nyreen, Harrot again... only the story was very strange sometimes.
You have to know: I was a huge fan of Aria. Since the Incursion Comic she was great and in ME2 she blew my mind
But in the Omega DLC, she was so out-off-character in my eyes.
But that was not Aria's fault. It was the story writing
So I made this Comic. Have fun
Note: After my last Liara Comic, some people were angry. So I say it again: This is only for Fun
Aria by lezisell, face textures by mrgameboy2012
Shepard by PrincessFelia
Oleg Petrovsky by lezisell
Background PabloPicasso and the-joeblack
Program by XNALara
Mass Effect and its assets belong to Electronic Arts and BioWare

So right
And it could be so funny, if Aria meets Garrus or Liara again.
I see Garrus flirting with Nyreen, a jealous Shep/Tali.
So many great possible things
...and then...
men for the gamer
And you are right. Think about you really sit on Omega for months
reaperwar is over Shep, guess who won?

It actually really bugged me when the DLC first came out--that Shepard would leave her ship behind, her only method of getting off Omega if she decided that Aria was starting to go off the deep end and she didn't want to be a part of this anymore.Β The Citadel DLC makes it a little easier to swallow now, tho.Β I just play Omega right after the Shore Leave mission, and figure that the Normandy is stuck there for a couple of weeks of drydock work, anyway, so it's either go help Aria and try to put a hurting on Cerberus... or hang around the apartment for 2 weeks, killing holographic Cerberus dudes in the Armax Arena...Β

Hey.... I like your idea. This is a great canon, and makes it really a bit... better
The other thing is. The Omega DLC is the last part of a puzzle, which shows us, that ME is more Action than RPG.
I mean. If you play an biotic Shep. You have in the maintime of the dlc two biotics (cause Nyreen is often off).
But you can make the dlc whatever of team you have.
I miss the RPG parts, like in ME1 where you only can hack, if you have an engeneer in your squad

oh yeah, ME1! but you're not quite right. you can do electronics and decryption with the sentinel, too.
shep:
i'm a sentinel, i can do just everything!
and have kaidan and liara, biotic death squad!

I played this for the 3rd time today actually, and I was thinking the exact same thing haha. Β I mean, Aria's a badass and all, but she's so dumb sometimes xD Β especially the way she infiltrated the base... I mean she could have saved almost her whole fleet, but she totally screwed up xD

I bought the DLC in a great time, because I was angry with people at work and since I couldn't punch them, at least I could kill virtual images made of pixels to release some stress. But honestly, the plot of the Omega DLC was non-existent. I did tell my friends, when they asked me if it was worth buying it, that the movie Transformers was deep and had an incredible plot in comparison.

I did the same
In fact, I was a fan of all DLC (even Pinnacle Station, cause you got what they said. Many gunfights and no real story)
But for the Omega DLC they gave us sooo high promises... and then?
I was angry after it

Sharai In reply to ??? [2013-09-08 21:53:00 +0000 UTC]
Haha nice summery Β
While the DLC was cool, there were those weak points, that you mentioned. I can somewhat understand Aria rushing in, after Nyreen dying, even tho she should have known better but the starting attack on the station... NOT very smart. Going through all that trouble to get a Cerberus ship just to get close to one of the ships and fire on it? I don't know... could have been done better/smarter.Β
And her being back on the Citadel, well that made no sense what so ever and it can't have been too hard for Bioware just to remove her, after the Omega DLC. If players hadn't done her other missions til then, they could have just got an PM or something
π: 0 β©: 1
Deemonef In reply to Sharai [2013-09-09 08:02:14 +0000 UTC]
Exactly
A cerberus ship, the codeword... and than this stupid attack.
And the worst thing: Oleg says in direct words "I upated the canons!"
And some moments later, after Arias ship is nearly destroyed she says: "Damn! This asshole had updated the canons!"
And the thing on the Citadel is so... dumb.
The whole time she annoys about the club...
π: 0 β©: 1
Sharai In reply to Deemonef [2013-09-09 17:29:28 +0000 UTC]
Considering that she brought Shepard for Ground assault, her whole plan of attack didn't really make that much sense. Would have been so much smarter to infiltrate the station.Β
And would any smart person tell that he updated the canons?
And in return, who would be stupid enough to ignore it?Β
Plus isn't that something you should find out while planning the attack?
Yep. "I hate this club and this whole citadel so much and can't wait to get back to Omega. I'm just here to coordinate things, because in all my years on omega that was never a problem before"
π: 0 β©: 1
Deemonef In reply to Sharai [2013-09-09 17:36:23 +0000 UTC]
Exactly
Only annoying... and then she sit there again
Oleg told about the canons, cause he is a this kind of respectable enemy who want to give you the chance for a retreat.
But as you said... if you are so stupid and ignore that... than you are not the right person for taking contol of omega

Cemmala In reply to ??? [2013-09-08 21:16:02 +0000 UTC]
If you went paragon on Aria and she started to flirt with Nyreen again, and Nyreen sacrifices herself infront of her, then I can understand why she went ape-shit and charges right in. But yeah, given what Aria has done to get control of Omega, being as reckless as she is are WAY out of character for her.
Then again, i kind feel like they half-assed the Citadel DLC as much as they did. Why include a clone if you're not going to use it to the fullest? How about making the clone actively flirt with clone-shep and the Love-interest react to it, or when they hang from the edge of the Normandy, when Shep and clone-shep is next to each other, that you have to convince the party which Shepard is the real one? And in that scenario, how about the real Shepard ask, let's say Liara, what you said in ME 1 in the dialogue the first night you spent with her? (And if you botched the dialogue, cheated on her, or haven't been in an active relationship with her until ME3, she has a small change of botching the choice and by mistake picks the clone and you get a bonus/hidden cutscene?)
Or hell bioware, atleast give me the option to get into the hot tub with Liara after I invite her to the suite... -_-;Β

Deemonef In reply to Cemmala [2013-09-08 21:19:44 +0000 UTC]
You are so right
Some things are really half-azzed...
The thing with Nyreen is right, this is understandable.
But you are right with the clone. There were so many more options you can make.
And... I know I stand a bit alone with this fact... but I wanted, that you can rascue the clone. It is stupid to let him/her die whatever you do
I like your ideas with clone shep. They are great

Cemmala In reply to Deemonef [2013-09-08 22:11:27 +0000 UTC]
But the real problem is, I have a hunch that the one who wrote that awful book Mass Effect Invasion co-wrote the Omega DLC.
I asked myself so many times, both during the book and the DLC, Why the hell did she just do that? Why the hell did she trust him and went with him to that outpost, away from Omega? Didn't it ever occur to her in the book, what a big coincidence it was that a large Cerberus shows up right after the first infected ship landed, and that they might not just be there to contain them or would leave Omega after they where done? She was so mishandled in the story, and something where so poorly established that some even thought that she were an Ardat-Yakshi in the end of that DLC, if you let her kill the general.... -_-*

Deemonef In reply to Cemmala [2013-09-09 08:06:51 +0000 UTC]
Yeah
That last scene with Oleg's Death was weird. For a sec I thought the same.
And with the comic you are right.
Sometimes I think, Bioware made her stupid, to make another story Like the thing with Drew was away, and the take the whole dark matter storyline away.
Grand Triolgy, with a weird Part 3 and end

i completely agree!Β i had to headcanon it as aria being too angry to actually think things through properly and she let her emotions get the better of her.Β i was indifferent about aria before, i saw her as just another quest-giving npc, but after playing "omega", i really started to appreciate her as a real character and i love her just as much as i love my squadmates
