Description
If you've seen Fellowship of the Ring, you'll notice there was a scene at the end where Frodo and Sam are standing atop one mountain range looking out into the one that borders off Mordor from the rest of Middle-Earth.This looked enough like that, so I thought an LOTR-esque title would fit it.
Terragen, with Photoshop postwork in the areas of contrast, and .jpeg conversion.
I may submit this to wallpapers if enough people think it should be one, since it's 1280 by 960.

it does look like the jagged impassible land of the Emyn Muil. While not as dark and grey, beautiful.

Yeah, I believe it did. There's some of Two Towers that sneaks into Return of the King, as well.

Another incredible landscape...but to me it doesn't fit the LOTR scope. Didn't the mountain they passed where white and snowy or at least grey? This has more of a Zelda vibe to me

Hey whatever floats your boat. I noticed it was different than that scene, so thought it could be like the distant range is protecting MiddleEarth from the so-called real world, while we pass through this front range to get to it.

It used to be 70 something bucks according to one of dA's resident TG experts, *velociraptor . I talk to him often about terragen stuff on MSN.
He's very helpful--he'd probably give you some good tips for the program if you noted him asking for help.

Very Tolkieny. Pretty. I like the use of the light in this render.

Nice ray work here the lighitng does give it a nice dramatic feel . The rich slightly cartoony colours finish off the fantasy feel well
