Found a tiny 'Big Brown Bat' about four days ago. It was unable to fly, most likely due to a wound between its shoulders.I had been makin' it as comfortable as I possibly could. Lettin' it stay in a box with water, mealworms, a towel, and one of my shirts. Jak and her mom were also big help, as my family didn't want anything to do with a bat.

AAHHHH! Baaaaaat!! First off, you are awesome for 1, liking bats; 2, knowing what kind of bat it was; and 3.... YOU'RE JUST AWESOME.
I wish we had bats around here but, alas, I've yet to ever see one. :/ I want to put out a bat box but I doubt the neighbors would appreciate it. Arrrgh but I do so love them! <3
That you got to not only see one up close, but take care of it... I am so incredibly jelly... ;o; And the story on your blog about him is so cool! The 'little monkey' thing was so cool- I was totally impressed that someone else knew that! They could the link between them through fruit bats and lemurs- even looking at them superficially you can see a lot of similarities, so it's no surprise the DNA was so similar! I also wonder if Marsupials aren't somewhere connected around/between bats and prosimians, too... Again, there are just a remarkable amount of structural similarities there. But, anywho!

Haha thanks! Yeah they're elusive little guys, this encounter was probably only the second time I had ever seen a bat by my house. The first time was when one got stuck in my chimney ¦D.
Though the experience was in fact incredible and different, they’re rarely seen because there’s usually nothing wrong with them. 
Yes, those wings of theirs always strike me as incredibly custom ‘hands’ and the usually furless faces simply strike me as, well “monkey” xD!

Haha, I'm just glad it's getting the care it needs now. I've looked after quite a variety of animals around here, but the bat has to be my favorite. Even with that wound on its back, it was a gorgeous little thing! <3
