can u include an option to not have the display pic in the start menu from being poped out like that it makes it look wierd dumb i dont like it and almost every 1 who is making the vista type themes keep making it that way

To complement what FiftyOne said, no ripping is not the best way to start. But for visual styles, playing around with others' works IS the fastest way to learn how to do it.
Just be mindful about how you go about releasing your work if you use elements from others'. Imitation is the best form of flattery, it's a compliment to think someone else's work is good enough that you want to reproduce it. Most people wouldn't mind one bit if properly credited.
Please do not just give up making visual styles because of this incident. The fact that you can piece together a couple of VS's means you're getting the hang of it. Keep it up!
To others: We get it the first time already, no reason to continuing echoing it's a rip or fuel the fire.

The bummer about starting off like this is you are not designing...and it's a slap in the face to people who actually design when you claim it. Starting off as a ripper is not generally the path to success. And whoever dissed on Boss is a total noob. Obviously he was pointing out the ...obvious. This community is known for quality custom oriented designers and people. Let's try to keep it that way.

OK, the guy made a mistake for taking as basis some well known visual styles without giving credit to their original autors, but at least he's trying to take the best of all them. For example, I downloaded OB WMP11 and I didn't like how quickstart buttons were wider than usual, then I picked QueVista 4 but the start menu had some shading issues, and so on.
Maybe this work is like a Frankenstein, but for some weird reason I'm still using this VS. We can't judge a person like him as you're doing; some of your comments are uncalled for.

The thing you don't seem to understand is that taking other people work without permission and posting is a rip. You can do it all you want for yourself on your own computer, but if you don't have permission, it's stealing.
Create a skin that takes you a few weeks and have someone take it or part of it without asking and post it. Maybe you will understand better.

Yes I know about that; I'm not a newbie and I've been ripped more times that you can count. The guy did a mistake (maybe because it's a new member of the community and didn't think on the later consecuences) but in some sort of way I think it's a honest mistake. I remember when I did the same when building a website from scratch: I took images from everywhere without giving credit to their original sources or autors; then people went in rage (like it's happening with this guy) and I had to delete all images or ask for permission.
The main thing is: you're going a little too far with your complaints. Maybe this guy did a honest mistake or is just a "ripper", but anyway we will know eventually. There's no need of judging a person we don't even know enough.

Retrospect: boss019's critique isn't that harsh if you re-read it, deepindersingh009 is not the one dishing vulgarities at people.
There isn't even a need for fellow deviants and friends here to debate over this incident.

i don't belive that anyone in deviantart is dumb!

as far as my work goes, this is my first, and if only one deviation has caused this much of hype, then wait for whats coming next, as i don't belive in making half hearted deviants or updates but releasing full and final styles.

I just got to say that this is not a Pro thing.
The toolbar is not cool,the start menu is somekind of copy thing.
Anyway keep up on your work,and tried to make your own style,other than Vista's.

It is a rip, a compilation of more than one VS to be exact. It wouldn't be wrong except that you never mentioned that fact nor credited the original authors.
There are many awesome 1st time deviations, mostly with an experienced someone's help. It's only right to seek permission and credit those people.
For example, the entire start menu is from 's OB Windows Media Player 11 V3 . It's much too obvious since its the only Vista style VS with very original sizing bitmaps which is unique among them, plus it's the only Vista VS that's purple. The 'All Programs' arrow wasn't even changed to blend to the other VS's menu highlight color, which means you still need to play with stylebuilder a bit more.

One of the best vista clones i've ever seen 
What I like about this visual style is that it doesnt have all the fancy glow effects, and this streamlines it down. I can tell this is different than other vista visual styles, and this is definitely not a rip. *cough* boss 019 *cough*

It was made for everyone to enjoy Vista interface on XP machines, without the use of extra ram or cpu usage for that matter!

Not bad for being your first VS, congrats. But I'd like to make some suggestions:
*Definitively you should use Segoe UI with ClearType.
*There's a bug with the small arrowheads on the explorer (folder trees collapsing); you should check it out.
*For me Start orb works well, since my taskbar isn't locked. Maybe you should pack Vista Start with your VS for the users that lock their taskbars.
Besides of that, I didn't find any major flaws. Keep up the good work, this could be the best Vista-like VS around

It's quite good, maybe you can change a few things for the next version. Mainly little details like use Segoe UI instead of Tahoma and change the taskbar colour a bit.
This can very well turn out to be the most accurate VS of Aero, keep up.
