I have tried to replicate your technique here using the tutorial cited over at Daz forums, but I cannot seem to get it right. I'm doing something wrong and the smoke still looks like a solid... sort of like rubber. Any advice?

There was a fair bit of trial and error involved. From what I can remember, I turned the opacity on the smoke props to around 3-5%, and the SSS amount to maybe 30-60%. I've also started using trans maps from "IDG Iray FX - Props and Shaders" (www.daz3d.com/idg-iray-fx-prop⦠) for another image I'm working on.
